Roy Rogers came home and took his new boots off before entering the house. He went out to the porch a few hours later and discovered that a cougar had destroyed the boots.
He hunted it down, skinned it, and nailed the hide to the barn wall.
Dale Evans looked at the hide and asked, "Pardon me Roy, is this the cat that chewed your new shoes?"
When not otherwise busy, the HMS Bounty took an occasional contract to deliver freight.
One such load consisted of several tons of nuts to be delivered to a French port.
The customs inspector checked, to verify the cargo: "Pardon me Bligh, is this the Chateau Neuf cashew issue?"
