It wasn’t about if you keep your garage doors open or closed but do you concern yourself if your neighbor doesn’t close theirs…

In that vein, if i notice my immediate neighbors maybe forgot to close theirs & it's late, I'll shoot them a text to let them know it's open.

This thread did remind me to reprogram my MyQ since we changed ISPs.

Only if I am out there working. Otherwise, always closed...

Lived too many years in Phx and Surprise. Mines closed unless I’m working in it.

In the part of Dallas I lived in I wouldn’t even leave it open to walk to the back yard for a minute unless I wanted something to walk off. Of course, they would steal a potted plant off the porch, or even freshly planted shrubs or plants out of the ground too.

I only leave it open if I'm out there.

The OP’s question was literally, “ Do you leave your garage door open all day when you're home?”

My answer is I only have it open if I am working in the garage, working on my truck in the driveway, or working in the yard. Otherwise it is closed at all times.

I can’t park any vehicles except my motorcycle in the garage. I do not have garage door openers in my vehicles because then all someone has to do is break a window and could open my garage door. I have a keypad opener or use the app on my phone.

Here it's the quiet side of town, so not much neighborly concern if my door is open w/car inside during daylight. Neighbors know my habits. There are neighbors who's habits are to always have their garage closed. the street keeps an eye out.

Most of the time it’s shut especially at night due to all the attention getting lights I have in there. Smile
If I’m in it & it’s the heat of the day I leave it open about 2ft for circulation.
Then I stumbled upon these bug screens and I love how it keeps the bugs as well as prying eyes out but still get some air flow .
As for my neighbors.. we live on the boundary of a state park. If they want raccoons & skunk in their garage that’s on them !

Nice, if you want something a bit more solid and easy to operate, check out LifeStyle garage screen doors....

I put one on ours since I'm out there quite a bit and the heat in FL is brutal.

You can still get a full F-150 in with it retracted there are places you can buy and DIY but JMO worth it to have it installed. Different levels of screen material as well.
