Maybe not childhood but more young adulthood, played religiously from 17-21.

I loved MvC2, it was our replacement to drugs at that age. We traveled the Southeast playing tournaments and meeting all sorts of other “nerds”.

I saw this being produced a few months back and missed the first pre order opportunity because of work. Lucky enough to catch this one.

Cabinet comes with 8 Games total and internet connection for online play I believe.

Let us know how this works and build quality once you get it. have been tempted by the Centipede/Asteroid/Missile Command/Crystal Castles version but what I really want is Galaga.

These look to be about 5.5' high, right?

Yeah they look a little shorter than a “real” arcade cabinet but that might not be the worst fitting them in a spare bedroom and moving it around. I think they use a riser on the bottom so I can always modify it to add 6-12 inches depending on where the controls fall.

Yes they are not full size.

I'm 6'2" and for me sitting in a folding chair is about perfect. I couldn't do it standing up, I'd be hunched too much

That’s very good info, thank you for that. I searched for a while for a comparison photo showing that type of comparison. I’m only 5’10” so we’ll see how it goes.

Years ago my next door neighbor bought a Galaga/~Ms. Pacman stand up video game.

It is always fun to play.

There are mods for these units that swap out the included 4 - 8 games to over 10,000 games. I bought the Street Fighter Arcade 1up unit and then got a kit to plug in that adds basically every arcade game, Playstation, PS2, Gameboy, Sega Genesis, Atari 2600,etc.

It's a Raspberry PI box that has all the games preloaded. The kit I bought also had upgraded joysticks and buttons, and I upgraded the speakers and am thinking of using an old flat panel monitor to upgrade the stock 1up screen. I guess if you were a good enough woodworker you could make your own cabinet and source the electronics and not worry about the 1up piece.

It wasn't a difficult upgrade and there are quite a few YouTube videos on the process.

I think they are making the 3/4 scale arcades for 3/4 scale people.

Expect to find/make a pedestal of some kind.

Galaga is available as part of the pac-man 12-in-1 cabinet for 199$ right now. Normally 315$.

My wife is actually thinking about grabbing one cause she loves Pac-Man

Here is the scale. The mando cut-out is life size, about 6' and that's a normal folding chair.

Yes there are lots of upgrades, they are beyond my meager IT skills though.

Thanks LV,

This one comes with the riser that puts it at 59” total so it looks like a nice little stool with work.
