How can a pair of pants fall under ITAR? Does that mean I can’t wear them if I travel over seas??

vthokyI just sat through a bunch of ITAR training, and my only guess is that some component of the pants material is ITAR-restricted. (What is "Teflon DWR"? Is the DWR something new and unusual?)
But in truth: I don't have a clue beyond that. I'm baffled.

lkdr1989I'll bet the pants are made overseas...which making this an ITAR item seems strange...made overseas, imported into the U.S., can't export

Unless, if it is indeed the DWR treatment which makes it an ITAR item, the pants get DWR's in the U.S..

PatenMy WAG would be because it has pockets explicitly described as pistol magazine pockets.

RogueJSKOr that online store might have just been lazy and auto-tagged all Magpul products as ITAR in their database.

SpinZoneJust because something falls under ITAR doesn't mean you can't take them when you travel.

I was being facetious about that part.
Actually kind of the whole title. Just found it funny that regular old pants had an ITAR warning.

That's it.
No doubt that they instructed whomever it is who enters in each item, that if it's from Magpul, make sure it has a ITAR disclaimer. Now that they make clothing....

RHINOWSOITAR applies to thoughts in your head as well as equipment, gear, and weapons.
But I doubt they'll pay much notice to your tactical pants.
