One year old beagle wants basic obedience and rabbit tracking re-education. Owners want review of training and easy-to-learn collar/remote device. She's a companion/sport purpose hound, getting too independent-minded. We don't want to lose her. Garmin? SportDog? Other recommendations? ____________________

We have used the Educator collars in the past. https://www.educatorcollars.co...cator%20Dog%20Collar For tracking, we have used the Garmin GPS collars. “Government exists to protect us from each other. For tracking, we have Cube trackers on both our dogs collars. _____________________________ Pledge allegiance or pack your bag! The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money. - Margaret Thatcher Spread my work ethic, not my wealth

A beagle? It can be done, but you’re fighting some basic instincts. Get in touch with a local trainer that will work with these types of collars. I had a Plott hound- same idea as a scent hound. Great local trainer helped me shape her, explain what I could ask of her and what might be impossible. Good luck. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

We use a garmin e collar we’ve had for at least 10 years for obedience training, and Luna wears a Tile we got when we got the life 360 in our phones "Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor.” Robert A. We’ve had good service from Sport Dog collars. The only thing I’ll say is that the collar (at least for us) is a small part of the training, used occasionally to remind/correct. It isn’t the be all, end all. Most progress seems to be made with time and positive reinforcement. Edited to fix “all say” to “I’ll say”. Not sure if it was my silly fingers or Apple’s silly autocorrect, sigh…This message has been edited. Last edited by: slosig,

You might find some value in watching the informational/selection videos on Gun Dog Supply. Acquaintances of ours who use hounds for guided bear and mountain lion hunts have e-collar needs that are different from what I need for upland hunting with a single Brittany. Silent

We've had decent results with our Garmin collars. Before that we used a couple variations of Sport Dog from Amazon. The first Sport Dog collar was good, but when we got a second dog and got a similar SD model set up for two dogs we were disappointed in effectiveness, range, and battery life.

We have two Garmin collars and have been happy with them. " The people shall have a right to bear arms, for the defense of themselves and the State" Art 1 Sec 32 Indiana State Constitution YAT-YAS

Gun Dog Supply e-collar buying guide. Fwiw, different function than you are looking for I believe but Garmin Sport Pro is what I use for my spaniels. Nearly the perfect layout for me. You’re going to want tracking functions though. Here’s a good link for you… https://www.gundogsupply.com/d...de.html?megamenumenu 0:01
