I just received an email from Apple, announcing the newest, latest, greatest(?) iteration of iPhone.

With maximum memory the MSRP is a mere $3,199. Plus tax. Free shipping though, and I think the Veteran discount is around 10%, so it's a bargain.

Wink If you ask Member trapper189 nicely, I'm certain he would assist with setting up that new eyephone, and transferring all your pics and stuff off your old phone and migrating it all onto the new phone. Wink

Well my last handgun was purchase was $3300 and I will use the new phone everyday, the handgun not so much. So the price doesn’t bother me.

I've never thought about it that way. I'm interested in the Duo but I want to see some reviews first, the hardware is up to snuff but the software is tough on first gen things like that.

I'm probably going to grab the 18 pro max 256gb soon. my old 14 pro max is having battery issues and there's screen burn in (i thought this was a thing of the past). I have the 128gb model and it's been 70% full for years. I don't save music on it and it's probably 65% pics of my dogs and cats anyways. Maybe the grandkids sometimes.

I'm just not ready to leave behind the lightning cord I guess. Even though I have plenty of USB-C stuff including an old android phone (oneplus 6) that's only used to play games.

Yes, and they will sell every single one as people will want to be seen with the new tech.

https://www.apple.com/iphone-duo/

It's a cool design, and in no time it will be discounted or free with a two year contract.

My 16 Pro Max still works well, it's big enough but the folded design would be nice....

Yipes! I’m still on all and averse to even $700 phones - thinking of just changing the battery instead. $3300 for a phone? Too rich for me.

The price will come down fairly quickly, and in a few years, this style of phone will be the norm. The one drawback of current phones is the limited screen space, and this style of device addresses that. Carriers will at some point do with these phones what they do with phones now- offering them for free when you sign a service contract.

It's inevitable. Apple and other makers must place these devices within financial reach of most consumers. The cellular phone has become the universal gadget, and the manufacturers, along with the carriers, must make them affordable.

Pathetic but true...Narcissism is an epidemic! So many in the 'look at me' crowd will 'need' to get one just because they think other people will think they're cool. Roll Eyes

I couldn't care less about the coolness factor. It would be great to have a device you could easily carry, that has the screen area of a small tablet. I'm certain lots of people feel the same. If I could afford one- or when the price becomes reasonable- I'd love to have one.

So the Duo is basically a folding iPad (a little smaller than the iPad Mini), and when folded (pocket size phone configuration) it's about the size of a billfold. It would seem there's lot's of room for battery capacity in that form factor!

I've yet to see a pic of it being used as a phone, but I assume you'd use it as such (to make phone calls) when it's folded, correct?

Loves me some tech, but the iPhone Pro Max is a big as I want for a phone.

When I need something bigger, I’ll use an iPad.

I’m going to give this new lease program a whirl and replace my old iPhone (trade in) and probably get an Ultra 4 Apple Watch. I have an old Apple Watch lying around here for a trade in on it as well.

No desire for one of those whatsoever.
I don’t know what iPhone I have, I just know I was pissed me my SE finally became unusable.
I just went in the store and said give me whatever won’t increase my bill.

I keep no music on my phone I stream everything. Even able to stream my entire collection from my home server.

We are past the point of no return for sure but I do miss the days of everyone (including myself) not constantly looking at our phones.

Agree, and this is one reason, as 911Boss alludes, the Pro Max is a good choice for us with readers who don't want to drag them out for a glance at some text, temp, etc. Also ok pricing when it's a once-5-years or so purchase and not every-iteration expense. Plus battery life is phenomenal.
