I guess I'm contributing to the problem because I use Google Pay on my phone (most of the time) or a credit card to pay for virtually everything anymore. Cash seems like little more than a hassle in the world we live in today. And if we go to dinner and I intend to pay, I'll get one check and pay with my CC. If each of us will be paying, the waiter/waitress can pen separate checks for us. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. I don't care. I don't think about you, or your payment habits at all. I do however like to laugh when I see a group of people at a bar or restaurant poring over the tab like it's some sort of legal contract, rounding to the nearest cent, debating over who ate more mussels and then staring at their phones and sending each other cute little Venmo emojis. To me, It's ridiculous to involve IT applications into something that doesn't need an IT application. Is that okay by you? Can I say that without persecution? As far as the security standpoint of Venmo, there are many easily available articles telling of the vulnerabilities of the app, things that I, as a non IT professional don't really understand. Which by my train of thought brings me to the conclusion of "I'll just pay cash". It's probably really secure by now with all kinks ironed out. What would I know, I pay cash.

And that's different from those same people doing those same things with cash, and bothering the wait staff or cashier for change so they're not over- or under-reimbursing their friend(s)?
It's convenient. You don't care for it. Fine. That doesn't make it ridiculous. No more than it's ridiculous for people to carry around wads of cash when carrying around wads of cash is no longer necessary.
"Persecution?" Seriously? You made some assertions. I called you on them. That's not "persecution."
Exactly. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system,,,, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe "If we let things terrify us, life will not be worth living." -- Seneca the Younger, Roman Stoic philosopher
