I do some driving for the local GMC dealer. When I went in this morning, they had one of the new Escalade V's. The window sticker was $161,000. In addition, the dealer was going to mark it up an additional $35,000. There are reports Chicago dealers are marking them up $100,000!! Went to order a mustang dark horse since no Shelby’s this year. Saw it and sat in one at Le Mans. First dealer wanted a 5 k premium and 2k non refundable deposit. I walked and got it for msrp with a refundable deposit. You can find places that are realistic. Fools are parted with their money easily. | |||

I haven’t bought a new vehicle in 22 years and don’t plan to unless I need to, but anytime I have I have NEVER paid the sticker price or any above it. I was always able to get them to come down. Went over to a GMC dealer to look at a used Yukon about 18 mo ago. The salesman drove us over to the remote lot in a 2022 Escalade. Me want.
