His military career is over, but I am guessing his performative stunt was part of a bigger plan, and this jackwagon will likely run for Congress in some blue district next.

That's a lot of ribbons for a major. Somebody should make sure that all of those are legitimate. And yeah, that clown just torpedoed his career and likely his freedom. ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. I didn't read it, but looking at the main photo without my glasses on.. I'm pretty sure that's Major Nelson.

Although I doubt he has enough years for retirement, he won't get one anyway.

According to an article, he went to the Air Force Academy in 2005 and on active duty in 2009. That would have given him 17 years of AD; cadet time for commissioned officers doesn’t count for time in service or retirement, according to the same Internet source about the question. ► 6.0/94.0 “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz

Of course, the headline reads as if he was arrested for disagreeing with Trump. ________________ People hate you. Train like it.

He will get an Article 15 and reduction in rank to O-3 and put out of the service with no retirement or benefits other than what he qualifies from the VA. NRA Life Member "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." Teddy Roosevelt

Naw! My bet is he'll be allowed to resign In lieu of Courts Martial and given a general discharge and walk away with accrued retirement and benefits. Freedom comes from the will of man. In America it is guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment

Zero irony, very clearly planned and calculated. You commies found a willful stooge in uniform to perform for your cause.

Besides being arrogant, self centered, etc... I guess he didn't think about his wife and kids before blowing his career. Especially with the cost of health care. You would think he would have a hard time getting a job, but I can see all the liberal employers lining up to support and honor this heroic figure.. (I am being sarcastic).. What a mope... The majority of his military career has been spent in Europe and internationally.. I am not Air Force and not up to speed on their medal system, but it seems like the normal stateside and OCONUS medals.. ((I am not going to lie, I wanted to deploy so I could get the Inherent Resolve Campaign medal, which is why I tried to switch to the VA and NC National Guard 3 times and I got denied by the USAR, 3x..)) Which would be—? Do military personnel have retirement and other benefits these days if discharged with less than 20 years of active duty time? ► 6.0/94.0 “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz

He is a commissioned officer, so retirement benefits can be secured as early as 8 years. If he gets court martailed, there will be no retirement pension nor benefits.

I did not know that. It must have been long after my time. But a (brief) Internet search did not reveal anything about such a program. Do you know how long it has been in effect? ► 6.0/94.0 “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz

As a commissioned office to receive lifetime retirement pay you must complete 20 years of commissioned service with some very limited exceptions, even in the new "blended retirement" calculations - which from first news he does not meet. https://myairforcebenefits.us....ement-System?serv=26This message has been edited. It will depend on how much his command wants the barbecue his ass. There are three options; 1. Article 15 reduction in rank and discharge from the Air Force. 2. Letting him resign his commission giving a less than honorable or bad conduct discharge. 3. Full on Court Martial for Conduct Unbecoming an Officer and other charges, probably resulting in a year and a day sentence for a felony conviction and dishonorable discharge. If command decides to go that route I can see him trying to stall the clock for the midterms and the next presidential election hoping the commie cocksuckers take over. Every time an incident like this happens, I always do the what would happen if it was the other way. Say he showed up on January 6 in uniform to support Trump and walked into the capital building. He would’ve been arrested and placed solitary confinement for months if not years and convicted, resulting in a sentence no less than a decade, but would probably be more. So for me, a conviction for a year and a day along with a dishonorable or bad conduct discharge seems really fair.
