I heard a most clever motto recited word for word about quality and a discount concerning buying something other than a Schwinnn and, I cannot find the darn motto online. Did you know his name was Ignatz ? Now about that motto. What have you ever heard ?

Ride right. My Dad would never spring for a Schwinn. Too expensive he said.

The Googlewebz mention: "Innovate or die."

Not sure if that's what you're after, but....

Former Schwinn owner here.

Both of those are probably true at one time or another but what I heard was quite long. Knew I should have wrote it down. Maybe it was a advertisment.

Worked the bike biz till just this year, including a few years at Schwinn while it was owned by Ed Schwinn and family. You may know that's not true now.

Are you speaking of the slogan "for the young at heart"? 70's era

The closest thing I've heard to this that I've heard of is Captain Kangaroo hawking Schwinn - who, not coincidentally, was one of the show's sponsors - in a portion of the show that was actually a thinly disguised commercial. At the end of the segment he would say, "Schwinn bikes - the quality bikes - are best!"

Something like "The sweet taste of a bargain sours before the long lasting taste of quality" or something like that?

Baskin Robbins used to have a quote attributed to one of the two on the wall that went something like,

"There are people who consider only price. There are people who will take a product and make a cheaper copy. The former are the latter's legitimate prey."

But that was Baskin Robbins, aka 31 Flavors, not Schwinn.

I was looking though Google Images for "Vintage Schwinn advertisement" and saw one that said "Schwinn Quality... Costs less in the long run"

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.
