My old Samsung Network Extender has failed. What is available to extend a weak cell signal?

Call Verizon. They will supply you with one for free. If they try and charge you, tell them you're leaving for T Mobile. It's what I did.

I was running the 3G Samsung Extender. Tried the 4G- couldn’t get a connection.
Looking for a better product .

The one I have from Verizon gives me 4gLTE in the house and 100 feet around it. I have absolutely no complaints.

Are you having this issue inside your house?

Those extenders are pretty much obsolete now with the advent of Wi-Fi calling. Just enable that in your phone settings and you should be good to go.

That is only true if you're happy giving your wifi password to all your visitors.

You are not required to supply your visitors with your password.

Most wi-fi access points allow for a guest network at the very least. I know mine allows 8 separate SSIDs on each band and I can check a box to isolate clients connected to each SSID from the rest of my network. Even without isolation, I could just set up a separate SSID for guests and turn it on and off as needed.

Of course, you don’t have to cater to your guests needs to make and receive phone calls either while they are visiting you.

You are if you don't have cellular coverage and you want them to be able to use WiFi calling.

It is simply bad network hygiene to give out to visitors access to trusted networks--no matter who they are.

I run a Verizon Samsung network extender at the house , it's 4G LTE and works perfectly.
I also have WiFi calling enabled on my phone.
I did find sometimes and randomly at that, when people called my cell number before I got the Samsung unit, sometimes it went straight to voicemail.
Using the Samsung network extender, that problem never happens.

I also use the WiFi guest network at home. It's easily turned on/off using an app on my phone. Works great at keeping the children using electronics at appropriate times and amounts.
TV's are all streaming, Tablets, PC's, iPhones, Game Boxes all need internet for other than minimal functionality.
At bedtime, guest network is turned off. They don't even bother bitching about it anymore.

And thanks for reminding me, I need to call Verizon and see about getting another Samsung network extender.
The fiber optic internet should be installed at the cabin in a week or so, and another network extender would make sense there also.

We depend on Wifi calling, it works flawlessly.
Most of my visitors have no idea what it is or how to turn it on on their phones.
If someone comments they can't get as signal to make a call I just say... Yea, we are in a dead spot and tell them they are welcome to use the land line. It's on the cable service too.
