400mTell us your ghost story
The only experience I had was a clock radio that would turn on by itself in the master bedroom of an old farm house owned by my friend’s parents. We also are pretty sure we heard noises in the basement. We never saw anything though.

coloradohunter44My wife's aunt in her last few years, had stomach issues and would walk around her bed at night in the old farmhouse where she was raised. We needed a place to stay for a week or two. We were up late one night and it was very quiet. The floor above us..her old room started creaking just as it had when she was alive. It was the last night we stayed at the farmhouse. She had passed away a few years before. There wasn't anyone else in the home.

konata88I have several, all at the same location (Grand Hyatt in Taipei). Here’s one:
I was talking on the phone with my wife my first night and had just found earlier that day about rumors of the hotel being haunted. I was relaying the info to my wife on the landline phone when the call was suddenly overcome with white noise and then disconnected. Coincidence probably but I’ve never experienced a noise and disconnection like this in the many times I’ve been to Taipei.
Another time, top of mind, that actually scared the shit out of me: I was sleeping well when suddenly the TV came on and with the volume up. I had to get up and find the remote to turn it off. They’re heeeerrrre………

Sharkey717Love this thread already! 1979 when I was 5, I had terrible growing pains in my knees. My mom would give me aspirin but often I’d be up and couldn’t sleep. My house at the time in Springfield NJ, one night with my door open I literally saw an apparition, it was large and white. My door on the second floor faced the u shaped hallway. It literally would go into the bathroom, my sisters room then my mom’s room. Never my room. I was terrified and at 5 there was no bravery, I remember trying to time it so I could run down the stairs and get out of the house lol. Back in late 90’s I told my mother about it. She told me the prior owner of the home, lost their son in a car accident from a drunk driver, we had the same room.

gunnittI was about 10 years old; on a Sunday morning I woke up because I heard someone at my window, I opened the curtains and it was my uncle. I went to the front door and met him, all he said was "tell everyone I am okay, and I love them, I have to go now". I went to my parents room and told them Uncle Frank was just here, and told them what he said. My parents came to the front and looked for him or his car ( we lived on the Jersey shore my uncle and his family lived in the Poconos), when they didnt see him, I got yelled at for telling such a lie.
2 or so hours later my mom got a call from her mother telling her how my uncle who was 34 years old with 6 kids had died a few hours before of a massive heart attack. he had a heart condition that was unknown to him.
I will never forget that day

Go there. Get away from the tourists. Sit down. Be quiet, look and listen. Back side close to Lot #3 down by the creek is best (or worst depending on your point of view).
Be warned, in summer, ticks are pretty bad and skeeters will carry you away at dawn and dusk. Winter is better. It's quieter but it's harder to hide from the rangers. The stains are easier to see seeping up and disappearing in the snow though.

.38supersigHad a wired radio on my tool belt checking for noise in the basement of an old (now elementary) school.
'Oh, the lines come in through the basement, you'll need to go through the dungeon.' the principal said. Hmm.
Staffer takes me halfway down the hall and unlocks a door. 'Down there.'
The steps are carved out of dirt. The floor and walls are dirt. The wiring was 60+ years old and they were the newest thing there.
Most everything checks out fine and I'm looking for RF noise. I check a phone line and it bleeds over a seven digit number like it was on loudspeaker...
'FIVE FOUR EIGHT...! Thats's odd. Put the radio on my tool belt and before I could check any bonds or grounding, 'something' begins to pull like hell on the radio that was on my belt. I had to grab the pole next to me or lose balance.
Turned around thinking it was a prank, but nothing was there. TIME TO GO!

mikeyspizzaWas 11-12 years old playing in/exploring the top floor of a 3-story apartment bldg under construction. Center stairway had not yet been built so there was just a big empty shaft from top floor to basement, and I was standing on the edge throwing stuff down. I don’t remember if I heard a noise, but I turned around and there was a man or figure of a man standing right there. It scared the shit out of me and I fell backwards down the shaft to the basement, and only remember running out of there. How I didn’t get killed or injured in any way I don’t know.

trapper189I was about 14 years old sitting on the garage floor working on my bicycle. Set a wrench down next to me and it was gone when I went to pick it back up.
I closed the garage door and used a flashlight across the floor to see if I could find it. Nope. I moved the cars out and swept the entire floor with the big push broom. Nope.
I gave up, put the cars back, went to the basement to get another wrench, came back and the missing wrench was sitting exactly where I had set it down in the first place.
No one else was home.

So there's hope that I could eventually get all those 10mm sockets back?

selogicWhen my oldest grandson was born we were babysitting one day . My wife put him on the bed in the spare bedroom and put a baby monitor on the dresser . It had two receivers , She had one and my youngest son took one into his room across the hall. After a little while they both heard someone talking to the baby. The voice was my wife's mother who had passed away several years before. My wife said that she met our son standing in the hall and it had really freaked him out. Both of them were absolutely sure of the voice .

Funny you should mention. My story does involve the ol' 10mm.
Couldn't find my 10mm socket (of course). I keep it in a very specific place in my toolbox, and it simply wasn't there. I looked 3x to be sure. Nope. Off to Home Depot I went. After returning home, I went to put the new socket in its usual place, and guess what's already there? Yep. My original 10mm socket. To this day I have no explanation.
So yes, there's hope.

kkina^That's a great story but my impression is that this thread's about personal ghost stories? Unless you went to West Point.
