An interesting look at stupidity and its affect on the one and the group. Although developed in the 1930s, you could very well replace the original group with today's liberal. Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed. Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists. Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

this describes my aunt to a tee "against stupidity we are defenseless" truer words.... -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- All his life he tried to be a good person. Social Media's the breeding ground of stupidity. There's no more fertile environment for stupidity then social media. ____________________________________________________ The butcher with the sharpest knife has the warmest heart.

Thanks for posting! That is a terrific sequencing to our collective puzzlement of far-left views. We've known for some time that facts and logic we use simply do not work. No doubt social media has way too much to do with the sociological stupidity we see these days. ------------------ The plural of anecdote is not data. -Frank Kotsonis

That was very interesting and gives a very simple perspective to our current social crisis/dilemma. I have struggled with the concept of essentially giving up on friends infected with liberalism. That the possibility exists to 'free' them gives me hope. 'The Matrix' is an almost perfect analogy.

I was acquainted with a formerly independently minded person who became quite the insufferable virtue signaling wokie. This evolution that Bonhoffer describes would fit their worldview and attitude perfectly.

Spot on. I don't do Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or that fucking disease of an app Tik Tok but YouTube has shown me enough. I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

Bonhoeffer was perfect in his description of our time, because he lived through it in his. Without intervention, our country will mirror the third reich. It is why we must end the current regime. Eric Metaxas wrote an incredible biography on Bonhoeffer, and it is available on audible. Either in print, or in unabridged audio book, I highly recommend the read. https://smile.amazon.com/Bonho...id=1635555871&sr=8-2 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The trouble with our Liberal friends...is not that they're ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so." It doesn't matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon will just take a shit on the board, strut around knocking over all the pieces and act like it won.. and in some cases it will insult you at the same time." I felt compelled to go back to Bonhoeffer's original writing After Ten Years, in his Letters and Papers from Prison. It's true that the original German word used is "Dummheit", and the translation for that is "stupidity". However, in the pretty much official English translation I have on Kindle, the word "Dummheit" is translated "folly". This corresponds well to the Bible in which, for example, "The fool says to himself: there is no God". For me personally, having long thought of "stupidity" as an intellectual "defect", the use of the word in the posted animated video seemed not quite right. "Folly", on the other hand, is not a word we use every day nowadays; nor is the word "fool"; but both have excellent historical uses not only in the Bible but in English literature. Again, my understanding of "folly" or "foolishness" is not that one is intellectually deficient, but deficient in sense, in wisdom--which I think was the point YooperSigs was making. If I make that one word substitution, then the animated video--which quotes Bonhoeffer directly from After Ten Years--becomes much more--how shall I say?--wise. And in thinking of our political adversaries of the SJW type, I could more easily say to them or to myself that they are fools, not that they are stupid. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"
