Can't vote in the 2nd poll, haven't tried it. Tillamook has become my go to, 2nd to HEB brand & then Blue Bell.

I assume we are talking about The super premium Costco vanilla ice cream that’s made by Humboldt Creamery in Ferndale CA.Its only ingredients are listed as fresh cream, skim milk, sugar, pasteurized egg yolks, and vanilla extract. It is pretty good stuff and a good price too.

I've been to both the Tillamook creamery in Oregon (~1.5 hrs west of Portland) and the Blue Bell creamery in Brenham. Both are excellent, and on the rare event I bring ice cream in the house it'll be Blue Bell.
Probably had HEB, but frankly don't remember.

Too many local places around here that make their own to buy store brands. Only downside is that they close at the end of the season in October.
One of the best is located right outside the gate of sig's academy. More than once I wind up making runs to that shop and picking up a half dozen shakes.
HEB has a '1905 Vanilla' that is most excellent and is my current go to if I want to use chocolate syrup on it. Link

Baskin Robbins Pistachio ice cream is the best vanilla ice cream especially when I buy it on the 31st with their 31% off discount.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Recently purchased some. It is pretty dang good. In fact I had some last night and as I pulled the new container from the freezer I noted that it is significantly heavier than the stuff we previously bought at the grocery store. I'd be interested in seeing a weight comparison of some of the brands. I'm sure some are full of whipped air.

Despite being a "frequent flyer" at the Costco that is just a few minutes from my house, I have never noticed ice cream there. I have to go to the optical department there this week, so I'll look for it.
The best store-bought ice cream I have had is the Publix Premium brand. A full 64 oz. half gallon tub, frequently on sale for five bucks, with a free tub on your birthday and a half-price tub on your half birthday (six months). And, they stock The One True Flavor: Maple Walnut.

Just about all the HEB options are pretty good. I usually pick up a pint on my grocery run, try something new from time to time.

Costco’s vanilla is really good, but maybe not the best. I think that in the interest of science I’ll have to conduct an up to date comparison. When I was younger I used to think Blue Bell was really good, but it’s fallen way down my list now. There are lots of better choices.

Where did you get that info? Costco is really good at sourcing from local purveyors but, if Humboldt Creamery is still their contracted supplier for their Kirkland ice cream, they're only producing for perhaps Northern CA and Southern OR locations given their production limitations. This message has been edited. Generally speaking Kirkland and member mark are a great value for money, and frequently they're excellent.
I also have great luck with Winco and sprouts house brands.

never had it, so clicked that and just a random number to do the poll,
may want to edit and add N/A as an option?
Winn Dixie Prestige Vanilla Bean was a mighty fine ice cream, when they were in this area,
now the wife either buys Lactose free Breyer's or I get Hershey's from the local convenience store
Never had it. Therefore I could not answer in the rating section which meant I was not able to vote in the poll.

Here is one article of several. They are the sole source of all of the Costco Super premium vanilla ice cream.
Members at Costco are no doubt familiar with the chain's Kirkland Signature branded products — the Costco-exclusive brand is a favorite amongst shoppers who regard them as high-quality and reasonably priced. But contrary to popular belief, Kirkland Signature is not a manufacturer of goods; it is a private label that Costco uses to control the quality and price of its products, which are usually made elsewhere. Kirkland Signature Super Premium Vanilla Ice Cream, for example, is actually sourced from a small dairy co-op in Humboldt, California.
Learning which companies actually make your favorite Kirkland products can be quite surprising, especially when they come from well-known brands like Starbucks and Duracell, but many are made by smaller companies as well. Humboldt Creamery products are all organic and hormone-free, and ice cream dominates 70 percent of the 95-year-old company's business.
North Coast Journal discussed the creamery's partnership with Costco, with CEO of Humboldt Creamer Rich Ghilarducci saying, "[Costco believes] the flavor of the milk from Humboldt County is something very special. They want all their ice cream in any of their product lines in the United States to come from milk out of Humboldt County." Humboldt may not be the ice cream capital of the world, but the Kirkland Brand Super Premium Vanilla Ice Cream has earned a massive reputation amongst fans as one of the best vanilla ice creams on the market.
Texture and flavor set Costco's vanilla ice cream apart from other brands
Many members agree that one mistake you can make while shopping at Costco is underestimating Kirkland products, especially in the frozen aisles. Kirkland's vanilla ice cream has a major following amongst ice cream lovers who appreciate the product's unique texture and flavor — after all, it's not called "Super Premium" for no reason. According to the International Dairy Foods Association, the label super premium means that a product "[has] very low overrun and high fat content, and the manufacturer uses the best quality ingredients."
This store-bought vanilla ice cream is made with high quality ingredients thanks to Humboldt Creamery, and Costco members claim they can totally tell. One user on the r/Costco subreddit claims that Kirkland's ice cream is the "best vanilla I have ever had." Another Reddit user described the ice cream as "creamy, thick, sweet enough but not overly sweet," adding that "The milkshakes you can make with this stuff are out of this world."
Fans of the product also claim that the price of Kirkland's vanilla ice cream is absolutely worth it. Shoppers at Costco can snag a large quantity for slightly more than you would pay at traditional grocery stores, but considering how much ice cream you get and how high-quality it tastes, members seem to be unfazed by the price tag. The exact price will vary slightly by location, but it usually amounts to around $18 for a pack of two half-gallon tubs

Outstanding! Pleased to hear, very encouraging for small operations able to mutually benefit with larger one. After a bit of research, looks like they supply vanilla ice cream for another well known popular retailer
Costco's Kirkland Signature super premium vanilla ice cream stands out thanks to its delectable texture, and while it wasn't included in the tastings for our ranking of 12 grocery store-bought vanilla ice creams, it would've certainly impressed. Customers swear it beats out other name brands — with a texture that's often compared to Trader Joe's vanilla ice cream, which our taste testers ranked second. Interestingly enough, the two are actually made by the same California brand: Humboldt Creamery.
