Gas stations in Germany only sell the unmixed stuff, which is mostly alcohol. They have water cans outside for mixing. I didn't realize this once when I was there in cold weather. I couldn't believe how strong the smell was when I squirted the windshield. When I saw someone mixing the stuff with water at the gas station, that's when I decided to read the directions.

I've mixed washer fluids , and even mixed motor oils . NO ill effects .

For over 45 years I have used a 50/50 mixture of Windex and water. During love bug season the Windex usually goes to 80%.

I have used it in everything from Chevy's, Volvo's, Porsche's, Audi's, Jag's and Land Rover's.

I also keep a spray bottle of Windex in the back to clean my hands when water is not available and for a quick windshield spray when I stop for gas.
