Does anyone have one with AWD? I'm thinking about a 2018 model for Mrs. Sigmund. Edmunds says mostly good things:

https://www.edmunds.com/honda/hr-v/2018/review/

We're a Honda family, Mrs. Sigmund drives a 1995 Odyssey that will not last forever, our daughter has a 2009 CRV and I have a 2016 CRV. I'd get a CRV for the wife, but two CRVs will be a real tight squeeze in our garage.

When the HRV (made in Mexico I think) first came out I read about some issues, I think they've been fixed.

Anyone have an HRV?

My wife and I purchased an 2016 HRV as a second car to my CRV when we moved to Washington. No issues with it yet, and it served well in the meager winter we had.

I already have a 2012 CRV that I am very happy with, so I was looking forward to buying another CRV or HRV as our second car. I test drove them both.
I was simply revolted by the feel of the Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVT) that Honda has gone to. Bought something else.

You could always do a Pilot and a Civic. Why are you set on two mini SUV's?

Have no desire or need for a large Pilot, prefer another vehicle 1) with AWD that 2) will fit in the garage next to the CRV.

My wife has a 2017 ADW HR-V EX-L NAVI. Honestly, she likes it better than her 2013 Touring AWD CR-V that we then gave to our youngest daughter.

The only thing it doesn't doesn't offer is power adjustable seats. Not sure why...that would seem a no-brainer feature.

I like it as well...it is a very well built automobile...

Thanks for the replies. Our dealer is offering .9% APR on HRVs, plus I can get $500 off as a retired military.

On the LX pictured below, the back door handles are not in the standard location. Can I assume these work just fine? FWIW, it's rare we have a rider in the back seat.

If AWD is not a must you could consider a Honda Fit. A plus (at least to me)is that either a Fit or Hrv is available with manual transmission.

My wife and I seriously considered one of these a year ago. We read about Mexican quality issues, extremely poor headlights and very noisy cabin. We test drove a EX and dropped from list. We were coming off of a Honda Fit.

Read lots of online reviews.

We test drove a couple when they first came out, but we went with Toyota RAV4s instead. They may be great cars, but what put us out was that they are based on the Fit and not the Civic.

We purchased 2-AWD RAV4s and a FWD one back in 2016, and we couldn't be happier. Again, if the HR-V would have been based on the Civic, we would have purchased 3 AWDs that day.

Another vehicle to look at is the Toyota C-HR. It is a little thinner and shorter than the RAV-4.

The MUCH better half test drove one and went with the Civic instead. New Civics get a turbo and the HRV is sluggish in comparison. Sluggish in comparison to the CRV as well. Goes with the reviews I've read that say great things about it other than being under powered.

The VW GTI is made in Mexico and is the best all around hot hatch on the market.
