My carry for Father's day.
Elegant but brutal

Holy shit super large.

This was my father's, he bought it new and only shot one cylinder though it and put it up. It had the original small splinter grips and recoil is brutal with them. The pachmyers tamed it.

I'll never sell it and my youngest son is it's future home.

Nice choice! I like em and the factory wood grips are almost unobtainable - only fit Lawman snubbies and nothing else.

The original grips are in the original box in the safe.

I wish I could take pictures like that. They really show how good the finishes look.

A work of mechanical art. Sad that Colt can't quite live up to its past.

If you've got the whole package you have quite a treasure. Rare is overused but that would qualify. You have got the right idea making that Lawman a family legacy gun. I'm very happy for you. Smile

Sad that Colt can't quite live up to its past. So true. I purchased a Colt SF-IV (the name may not be a perfect match), sent it back to Colt. It came back with same problem. It would fire only half of the time. This was back in the 90s. Fast forward to a few ago, our local gunsmith fixed it. Go figure.

Maybe not so much.
Had the opportunity to shoot the new python, 4 inch. Great double action trigger. Big improvement over the originals. Didn't feel as fragile.
Finish was ok, certainly not the hand polished blue of the older ones.
$1500. is kinda steep, but I was impressed.

Old is cool;
Shipped 11/20/1947 - stocks numbered-to-the-gun

S&W M&P .38 Spl. 2" - still a good shooter!
