FWIW, I just got on chat with Amazon and complained that (through no fault of their own) I was not getting the 2 day shipping that I signed up and paid for, and they issued me a $50 promotional credit. (They tried a $25 one first, but I haggled until they gave me $50). Might be worth your time to do the same.

I posted this as a reply in the Amazon thread in WYD, but figured more people would see it here and thus get the promotional conkers.

Lately each time we place an order we click on the box that says it's ok to delay shipping so AMAZON can put emphasis on shipping priority item orders.

In return for doing that, AMAZON awards small amounts of credit toward Prime music. We won't use that but figured shipping critical supplies during these times is more important than the widget we ordered.

My Amazon deliveries are almost always on the day promised, are are much more likely to come early than late (like the one coming today that was scheduled for tomorrow).

Yeah, I keep getting emails from Amazon about their Prime music. Totally useless to me; with my hearing loss, normal conversation is difficult, even with hearing aids.

Music? I wish.

When I've chosen no-rush shipping, Amazon has provided "digital cash credits." This dollar amount credit (for a while it was $3, now it's down to $1.50) is valid towards Kindle books and Amazon Prime movie rentals, as well as music purchases. Right now I have $15 in credit, which will expire in August, which is more than enough for most Kindle book purchases, or would pay for three movie rentals at $5 each.

Also, I've found that "no-rush shipping" still gets me the item in just a few days.

Did you NOT notice the Banner at the top of the Amazon webpage.... Roll Eyes

'We are giving priority to essential items that our customers need most. You may experience shipping delays. Learn more on our COVID-19 page."

AMAZON AND COVID-19

The linked page lists 14 FAQS re: Orders and Deliveries due to COVID-19!

Here's Item # 3....

"Why are some, Prime and Non-prime, items taking longer to ship?
As COVID-19 has spread, we have seen an increase in people shopping online. To serve our customers while also helping to ensure the safety of our associates, we have changed our logistics, transportation, supply chain, purchasing, and third-party seller processes to prioritize stocking and delivering items that are a higher priority for our customers. This has resulted in some of our delivery promises being longer than usual. We're also hiring over 100,000 positions across the U.S. to enable us to provide this vital service to people everywhere, especially to those, like the elderly, who are most vulnerable."

Seems like smart, comprehensive and well thought out policy to me. It assures they're able to prioritize the most urgent needs of their customers while everyone is served in the best possible manner given the circumstances....Unless you're a 'Pyker' and feel you're special, thus deserving priority service/compensation beyond what the rest of the customers expect during the 'Global Pandemic' Roll Eyes

What's that got to do with anything? They were happy to take my money regardless of whether they were going to honor their end of the bargain. I would have been just as happy with an extension to my prime subscription. No different to Auto insurance companies refunding premiums because people have paid for something they can't use.

You going to turn that down if they offer it?
