Texas Democratic gubernatorial nominee Beto O'Rourke postponed upcoming campaign events after being hospitalized with a bacterial infection, he revealed late Sunday.
O'Rourke, a Democrat, has been campaigning across the Lone Star State in his bid to deny Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, a third term. His gubernatorial campaign abruptly canceled events over the weekend, including one on Friday soon after it was scheduled to begin, saying the Democrat was not feeling well without elaborating further.
"After feeling ill on Friday, I went to Methodist Hospital in San Antonio where I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection," O'Rourke tweeted Sunday, adding that: "The extraordinary team there — from custodians to nurses and doctors — gave me excellent care and attention, including IV antibiotics and rest.
"While my symptoms have improved, I will be resting at home in El Paso in accordance with the doctors’ recommendations," he continued. "I am sorry to have had to postpone events because of this, but promise to be back on the road with you as soon as I am able."
O'Rourke was signing books at a campaign stop when he began feeling unwell, the owner of the bookshop where the event was taking place told The Mesquite.

Naturally, the custodians are the first members of the extraordinary team he credits with providing excellent care and attention. He’s so full of excrement it probably came out both ends when he was admitted and some poor soul had to clean it up.

As much as we'd like to hear that this blithering idiot has the ass pox, he probably contracted probably something commonplace and not nearly as embarrassing.
