A Portland, Ore. politician who called the cops over an argument with her Lyft driver despite her support for the “defund the police” movement now says she acted out of a fear of “white supremacists.”

City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty and her Lyft driver made dueling 911 calls during a Nov. 1 ride from hell, as Hardesty griped about everything from confusion over the pick-up location to the car’s windows being open, The Oregonian previously reported.

Hardesty — who caught flak for the move in light of her claiming most 911 calls aren’t for real crimes — said during a City Council meeting on Thursday that she was motivated by a fear of far-right demonstrators who have recently rallied in the City of Roses.

“This is another example of being black in America and being put in a position where I have to be the one to look out for my personal safety,” she said. “I didn’t expect the Lyft driver to do it, certainly didn’t expect the police to do it. It was my responsibility to make sure I got home safe.

“When you’re living in a city where white supremacists are proudly riding around in their big trucks with their flags and you’re a black person and somebody wants to put [you] on the side of the road at night,” Hardesty continued. “Not gonna happen.”

Amid their disagreement, the Lyft driver, Richmond Frost, tried to leave Hardesty at a gas station to wait for another driver to come, but the pol refused to get out of the car until a replacement ride got there.

The police eventually arrived — as did another Lyft driver — but no charges were filed against either party.

Hardesty — who also oversees Portland’s emergency dispatch system — has repeatedly campaigned to slash Portland’s police budget, as the city has been overwhelmed by sometimes violent clashes between far-left and far-right protesters.

If there were actually white supremacists running around Portland much less Oregon, she wouldn't be a city commissioner in one of the most white-demoKKKrat-controlled cities, in a heavily white-demoKKKrat-controlled state.

She's nothing more than an agent of BLMtifa.

It would be so nice if the driver has video of the full ride, with understandable audio.

I will wait for more information, but I'd bet at least a dollar on the following:

Driver is polite at first, listening to an increasing amount of unrelated, untrue, and unnecessary complaints. Driver reaches their limit in remaining calm in the face of her barrage. Driver informs her that they will drop her off at the nearest public location and no charge for the ride to that point.

She can't allow herself to be dropped off in "this neighborhood", so out comes the cell phone (if it wasn't already out and secretly filming in anticipation of some kind of conflict) and 911 is called.

I could go on, but I wouldn't be surprised if our LEO's and others haven't already seen something similar to this, in the sense of someone actively trying to create a problem where there isn't one.

Now if we get proof that the driver really put her life in danger, and not imaginary microseptic macrogressions that are systemic because of the 1700's, then yes, make an issue of it. But somehow, with the lack of citations or charges, I don't think we are going to see that happening.

Reading the reports, she was at a casino and called for Lyft. The driver arrived at the location given and didn’t find her. She finally showed up complaining he wasn’t where he was supposed to be. He offered to show her the request with the location, she didn’t want to see it.
After getting in she demanded that the windows be closed. The driver pointed out this was a health department order due to Covid. She complained more.
The driver took and exit and stopped at an open gas station. He pointed out it was his right to refuse service and she could call for another Lyft driver. Instead she called 911. The dispatcher told her this wasn’t a 911 call and that no crime had been committed. Meanwhile the driver called 911 reported his fare was refusing to get out of the car.
Eventually the police arrived as did another Lyft driver.
The politician’s story is that he tried to leave her, a woman, “by the side of the road” and that gas station was close. (While this dragged on the station did close)

Just another idiot politician 'ruling class' entitled douchebag that got caught acting like an ass in public, then played the race card trying to get out of it.

Like there are REALLY gangs of 'white supremacists' roaming around. If that were even close to the truth, you know the msm would be all over it.

"White Supremacists" are the new boogey man - no proof at all they really exist, yet they are used to scare the sheep.

Just like with all the 'hate crimes' against blacks that turn out to be fake - incidents of real white supremacy are in high demand but low supply. . .

As awful as she is, just imagine how much worse the people are who put her in that position either by voting or appointment...
