In July of '21 I ordered a Diesel Suburban Premier, my dealer informed me that I probably won't get it till 2023. When I placed the order diesel was about $3-4/gallon...it's a bit more now. During that time I've looked at Volvos, Infinitis, Lexus, BMWs, MBs...My wife reminded me that since my oldest will probably drive next year maybe we don't need a huge car. I ended up with a 2022 All Terrain at $3k under MSRP. I've loved station wagons forever. This thing is beautiful and a beast. Thanks to all for your council especially Aoetecles!

One thing David is I would look into a film that makes auto glass bullet proof. I believe there is such a thing. I could be wrong. But if there is Honestly I would think it would be a good idea.

Love wagons & big MB fan, congrats!

I've had 3 MBs, my grandmother 7, and my dad has a 72 (I think) 280SE project.

Mine were 2 82 diesels & a 15 C-Class.
Grandmother's were all S-Class from 89-15

When I was sixteen my first car was a 1968 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser.
My friends had Camaros and Firebirds and I drove a land yacht!
It had power everything and was fun to drive until I drove it into
a utility pole.

Too funny. We had a Vista Cruiser with a 455 in it until mom hit some black ice and drove it into a tree. Biggest motor we’ve ever had in land vehicle. My dad cut a piece of foam rubber to fit the back with the seats down so two of us could sleep there and two could sleep in the tent while camping. I don’t see Dave doing that, but maybe he’ll let his kids sit in the rear facing seat. Nice vehicle, Dave.

Drool, an AMG wagon would be on my short list if I came into some big disposable $$.

Congrats on the new wagon, it's a beauty. My folks had a 1971 Pontiac Catalina and that is what started my love for wagons.
