Had to just share once again about my experience with my Doctor firearms related. I previously shared here on my last visit my Doctor asked me if I'd like to bring in my handguns to show him as he's a big fan and user. We had a great time with the show and tell that office visit. He showed me his Glock that he carries. Additionally to his nice practice, he's an auxiliary Metro-Dade Police Officer. His office practice rooms are packed with many cool photos of his tours in Desert Storm as a chopper pilot and souvenir's. This appointment he surprised me with bringing his new AR into the room. His face just lights up when he opened the case and showed me. He offered to take me to shoot it after he got off work but he previously had scheduled and planned to go flying in the chopper first then shooting afterwords. I had to sadly turn down his offer as my endurance these days is sadly lacking. But I just wanted to share my experience because after seeing at least a dozen doctors in the last several years he's an example of one of the finest, one that I actually look forward to going to. He was a family referral so we started off on the good foot to begin with. He shares this successful practice with his brother which is also another doctor. Just an all round great experience to have these days as I've had other doctors in the past who were seemingly anti-gun. In the past I've never been questioned about my ownership but any mention of firearms went over like lead balloon's and silence followed. Kevin, my new doctor referred by my family is just what I needed to help and understand my situation. He is my PCP now as I've dropped my last one when he seemed to get more interested in pushing meds than treating specific issues. On my last visit before switching over to Kevin as my PCP, he prescribed me six different medications and after using them for a week I called and told them that some side effects of the medications were making life more difficult, their reply was that if I did not want to follow the doctors recommendation's that it would seem that I do not want to get better...which is absurd. Thus my PCP change. I thought I'd share this experience because it's one of the good healthcare experiences, how's yours? Regards, Will G.

Ouch. Is he an eye doctor? That is a wall of text. "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye". The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery, pilot and author, lost on mission, July 1944, Med Theatre.

Too cool of a doc. Sad you may suffer the consequences nowadays if you even mention firearms to a doctor. A positive story like this is great to hear. Retired Texas Lawman

Some time back I was in my doctor's office and he discovered that I was carrying!. Wanted to see it, compare it to his carry piece! Don't recall what he carried but it was a nice pistol. Current doctor where I go for quarterly checkups also knows that I carry. We have never discussed it, but his office staff knows to reduce the number on the scale for clothes and pistol. I have a couple of physician friends (all Anesthesiologists) that are big time gun guys. A few of them have quite impressive collections as they have plenty of fun money (well since their loans have been paid off they do). Wilsons/Ed Brown/Nighthawk 1911's, custom AR's and AK's, you name it. Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six

My chiropractor had to show off his P365. I also set him up with a good FFL for transfers. ----------------------------------------------------------- TCB all the time...

Well, your last sentence there makes me roll my eyes. If you don't want to follow the doctor, you don't want to get well? That would make me want to slap them upside the head. But good thing about your new doctor. I'm glad you found one you like. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
