Felt right at the time, but right before Christmas I told a couple of my militant liberal half siblings that I didn't care if I ever saw them again in my lifetime. I don't really regret telling them that, but it made my mom cry, which I do regret. Her kids from her first marriage.

My buddy bought a flip house. It's on a slab and I told him I would do the plumbing for him.
I ran pex to everything inside the walls. Pressure tested and good to go.
AFTER the drywall was on and finished he called me and said "we forgot to run a water line to the toilet". How could I remember a water line to the ice maker and forget the toilet? DUH
Went yesterday and cut the wall open and ran it.

Let's hear your dumbest story this past year.

I've been paying $200 a year for the privilege of carrying my ranges key in my pocket for the last decade. My last range trip was probably 5 or 6 years ago...

This story makes me sad. Why not set a calendar appointment to go shoot at least once a month, instead of cancelling the membership? You have an amazing collection...they need to be exercised!
.

There is no logical sense to keep the yearly membership ($450), if you only shoot once a month ($20/shoot).

I have a club, a range, and a gym membership that I didn't use in the last year expect one trip each to range and club, no gym visits.

I can promise that those things are by far not the dumbest things I did last year.

Didn't get in on the ammo group buys we had here.

Made the mistake of thinking that I had friends at work. Turned out that they stabbed me in the back the first chance they got.

Mine is $150 for a private outdoor range, I also haven't gone all year due to various reasons and although I've debated on cancelling this year, I chose to keep it due to the fact that once I drop, it's hard to get back in as there is a limit to the amount of members and there is a waiting list.
When things settle down for me financially, I would love to get back outdoors shooting instead of the indoor place that's across town.

Mine's $110/yr (plus NRA membership), and I just re-upped. I am typically out there 2-3x a week. It doesn't hurt that it's only about 10 minutes from my house, and it's also on the way to dropping my kid off at work so I can easily stop by on the way to or from doing that. There are periods where life/work/etc gets in the way and I can't make it out as much, and this time of year the sun coming up at 7 and going down at 5 makes it impossible on work days. It starts feeling like withdrawal when I don't get to shoot Frown.

Whew, good to know I am not alone on this. I also pay $200 per year and go about once every other year.

I ignored what turned out to be a DVT for 4 weeks! Deep Vein Thrombosis. A giant blood clot(I had two) from my ankle to my knee. The most dangerous time is the first two weeks! I could have died! Now I'm on an anti-coagulant for life. The good Lord saved me.

Two things bring me to tears. The unconditional Love of God,the service of the United States Military, past, present, and future.

I fell for a scam on Gunbroker.

Bought a Henry 38/357 lever action. Listing said "Contact seller for payment", which I will never do again.

He requested payment through Zelle, which I can do through my bank. He had hijacked another seller's account. I never got the item, lost over $1,100. Gunbroker shrugged their shoulders, my bank told me Zelle wasn't covered like a credit card transaction.

I'm more careful now.

Phone's ringing, Dude.

AUTiger89 - Thank you for sharing this. I bid on a gun about six months ago on GB that contained a similar message. I did not win the item so I did not have to go through with the final payment. I will make sure I look for this before I bid on anything in the future.

Great lesson for everyone who buys on GB….

Hope a late entry from this year is OK. So I go to change the engine oil on the 4Runner. Afterwards, the oil level wasn't right no matter how much I put in or took back out. And when I tried to drive it, the gearing did all kinds of crazy things.

Turns out it's very, very bad to confuse the engine oil plug with the transmission oil plug.

Truck is at a repair shop where a competent mechanic should be able to do the job correctly and tell me if any damage was done to the tranny (only drove it a few feet before shutting it back down).

Oops! Had a new roof put on the house 6ish years ago. The driver that brought the dumpster for scraps backed into my garage door. I got a new one at their expense.
