He has other skills. IIRC he's a licensed EMT. At one point he was working on an ambulance in NYC (seriously.)

That was pretty sad, but to say he never was any good is wrong, in my opinion. I saw them in the early 80's and it was one of the best concerts I've seen. He should hang it up now, but back then that band was one of the best out there.

Muther of Gawd! My guess is he's in a contract and wants out. He HAS to be trying to get fired. That was spectacularly bad.

That is spot on. He always had to show the athleticism of his voice in the Van Halen days, to the point he probably overdid it. Maybe he permanently trashed his vocal cords. .

He may not have in ear monitors and be relying on house and stage monitors. Maybe he could hire a good sound coach. The rest of the band sounded on pitch. ------- Trying to simplify my life...

I'm not sure what was more frightening; his singing or his pants!

Here is Roth in his Vegas hotel, dropping in on a bachelor party, and the dudes have no idea who he is. I love the comment: "They were clueless, but in David Lee Roth's mind, it was the best moment of their lives." I've often thought if I won one of those "hang out with a celebrity for a weekend" contests, I'd choose to hang out with Sammy. God bless America.

He was never a good singer but he was persistent, obnoxiously so, and could work a crowd.
