He explains the possession and acquisition aspects of the ruling. He also thinks the CA DOJ will get a stay in the next days on at least the acquisition portion, possibly leaving the newly acquired mags in a grey zone; he has no idea of the legality of the new ones compared to the pre 2000 grandfathered mags.
It will be an interesting week for CA gunowners, especially those that bought mags in the last few days. Lots of uncertainty.

Sure sounds like Becerra feels like he has been punched in the gut. That is a pretty weak response. I would have expected more fire and brimstone so to speak.

Some people—and it’s usually the same ones every time—cannot be happy unless they find something to be unhappy about. No matter how this turns out, it’s something for us gun owners to be happy about for the moment even if it’s not the end of every ridiculous antifreedom law in the nation, the NFA isn’t declared unconstitutional, and we don’t get to have our pick of weapons and ammunition in the military’s arsenal rather than a cash tax refund.

My resolve weakened – figured that I best not miss the opportunity. Ordered some 18-round flush-fit Mec-Gar mags for my 9mm P226 X5 Comp from TGS last night. They sent me the tracking number a few minutes ago.
Serious about crackers.

Good man. You won't regret it.
I have been sending email flyers to my family members in Cali. Now honestly, some of them didn't even know what I was talking about which is a HUGE part of the problem. That is for another day however.
Today is a good day.

I received an e-mail from Beretta a little while ago advertising that they were sending “High Capacity Magazines” to California. If I thought it would be read by a real person, I’d send back:
“No, now you’re sending regular capacity mags instead of the reduced capacity ten rounders they’d allowed in for a while.”
Regardless, it’s good to see more and more companies filling the need of our magazine-starved Golden State brethren.

Depending on what side of the aisle you're on, Chuck Michel is the either Gen Patton or, Darth Vader when it comes to firearms laws. Virtually every gun legislation in CA the last 20-years that has been shot-down or, been neutered is a result of Chuck Michel and his team of lawyers. When it comes to the actual foot soldiers in the battle for 2A rights, Chuck Michel is THE hammer. I would not be surprised if he had a hand in helping craft the defense for this case that lead to this ruling.

Michel & Associates represented the plaintiff in this ruling.

I hate the made up word Hi Capacity Mags. Nope, they are just regular standard capacity mags that people in 45 or so of the states use regularly. They actually take the standard magazines and modify them to reduce their capacity. I really wish gun people wouldn't accept this stupid term and would correct people when they say Hi-Cap Mag.
STANDARD FREAKING CAPACITY!!!!!!!
Now if you add a plus one baseplate to your magazine I could see calling that an Hi-Cap Mag.

CA legalese is "large-capacity magazines" or the term LCM. The latter used in the A.G.'s request for a stay.

Just got an email from Natchez that part of my order was from a drop ship vendor that isn’t on the freedom train yet. So I’m only getting a partial order. Oh well it was a handful of glock mags that I already had and it saved me a few $$. I mixed and matched my ordering between vendors depending on what they had in stock. So a partial shortage by Natchez is not the end of the world.

Thanks for the suggestions. Fortunately, my work should be taking me to Texas for the next year or two....as long as oil stays above $40/BRRL!

Still the same thing. They are manufactured for x number of rounds, then in order to be CA compliant they need add spacers to them to reduce the size. I hope this gets to SCOTUS and they use the Heller ruling as the determiner for magazines, common usage. There are a bazillion 30 round pmags out there, it is by far the most common size for modern sporting rifles. Same thing with pistols, the most common magazines are the ones supplied to 90% of the states and what the pistol was designed to utilize.
The manufactures should not have to modify their pistols or rifle mags on a per state basis. Next thing one state will say seven rounds max, another five rounds, another 11 rounds. How many different mag modifications should they need to produce? 3, 4, 5, 26?
As the judge very correctly wrote, there were zero mass shootings in CA and hundreds of thousands of lawful uses of guns for self defense. Which do you protect against the muggings, robberies, car jackings, home invasions, and other crimes or the once a decade mass shooting? I'd say go with the one that actually saves lives. If I were a deranged shooter, mag capacity would not matter, I'd strap mags around my belt, in my pockets, and anywhere else I could stash them. I would be 99% as leathal as I would be with same number of rounds in fewer larger cap mags. Reverse that if you are an innocent person and only have what's in the pistol, the difference between 10+1 and 15+1 can mean life or death.

Funny how a constitutional right that was created to protect the people from exactly what you describe, is somehow found to "not infringe". There needs to be judicial accountabilty.
