Always have the woodstove going in the shop. Looking for a container I can leave on the stove to keep hot/warm water at the ready. A couple gallons at least preferably more. Lots of room on the stove.
Keep from using electricity for hot water use. It will need to be good for domestic use. Drinking, hygiene, cooking etc. Would prefer something other than cast iron other than ceramic lined or something. USA made would be a plus.
Any recommendations. Thanks all and Merry Christmas.

I use a large cooking pot from a yard sale. The steam helps heat the place & hot water for washing dishes is handy.

The problem with your request is keeping water sanitary would require a closed container. It must then have a pressure release to be safe from steam exploding the container.

Perhaps an all stainless steel tea kettle might be what you're seeking?

When we heated with wood I found my wife's canner, from years ago. Porcelain coated steel.Worked like a champ. Relieved the winter dry air that wrecks your sinuses.

Also thinking of something to set it on so not directly on the stove.

A canning kettle should be perfect. They come in various sizes, and have a loose fitting lid that would vent steam.

Aluminum turkey frying pot.
It will hold 5 gallons and has a top to keep out dust/keep the temperature up.
Pretty cheap to buy, too.

Do you have running water in the shop?
A copper coil mounted on the wood stove would be a good way to heat water.

Amazon has a:

COLETTI Scoutmaster Camp Coffee Pot — Cowboy Coffee Pot, Coffee Percolator Camping – Huge Stainless Steel Coffee Pot – The Ultimate Camping Percolator, NO Aluminum or Plastic [24 Cup]

That would probably work.

Go to GoodWill at find a big pot there. Don't pay full retail for a new one.

Edit: I just did a search on Walmart for a 8qt pot. It is in stock for $8.94, ready for pick up. Probably can't even find that price at a thrift store.

Looks like a good SCALDING waiting to happen in a workshop ! Not dumping on the thread. just a concern about long 2x4, angle iron, piece of pipe etc. being carried or swung around without due process. Knocking 10 gallons of hot or boiling water over would not be a pleasant experience?
