Damn. From First Blood and FX to Silverado, Mr. Dennehey was a great actor. RIP Sir and thanks for bringing pictures alive on the silver screen.

Of his portrayals, the ones where he was a son of bitch were the best. He played "that king shit cop" in First Blood. He was a real SOB in Silverado, threatened to murder poor little Linda Hunt. He played John Wayne Gacy in To Catch a Killer.
And then, there this, based upon a true story and told factually.

Damn. I've been dreading this day. Absolutely one of the best actors/real guys.
He creeped me out as John Wayne Gacy. I wanted to kill him myself in Silverado. I'd say he was very good at his craft, based on the emotions he evoked in me.
@Para: I've not seen that TV movie, but I'll look it up. Looks to be right in his son-of-a-bitch wheelhouse.

Thanks for that post Para I loved that movie but I always got the titled mixed up with Killing In A Small Town. Best Seller with James Woods was excellent as well.

R.I.P. Mr. Dennehey, I've been a fan of his work for a long time.

I liked him in Silverado and First Blood, but lost a little respect for him when he was caught lying about his military career in VN.

Cobb was a great character in Silverado.

Shit, 81 is a good run. If I make it to 81, they can send me off with a fireworks show if they want.
Besides, the actors who appear in motion pictures and television shows have come closer to immortality than anyone else who has ever lived. Wanna see Mr. Dennehy? He's right there.

I was particularly happy to read this from the above linked article.

He was an excellent actor.
I think he did an exceptional job as Detective William Kirwill in Gorky Park, playing alongside William Hurt and Lee Marvin. It took a long time before I began to appreciate Gorky Park as a movie, and it was in part due to Dennehey's portrayal of Kirwill.
