They are a division of Woodcraft, a store I've nicknamed the WoodCrack Store because I spend way too much time and money at my local store, about 3 miles away.

They are a fine and reputable retail operation. Decent wood selection, tools, classes, etc. deal with them in confidence. I have no relation to them except as a satisfied customer.

I have bought items from them for years. Never had a problem.

I don't know Japanese knife brands at all. Would like a good quality larger knife. Any style of manufacturer recommendations?

After working with a Silky Saw for trail work, I never want to go back to a Gerber, Buck or Corona. Pretty costly though.

They have reasonably priced kitchen shears that aren't from China, my father will be happy. Now if they only had BBQ tongs.
