Engine vitals monitoring ap? Login/Join

Is there an ap that can be used with the in car info screen to monitor temp, pressure and tach on modern cars? All feeds should be there already, but they are running idiot lights instead of actual gauges. Looking for oil pressure, temp, volts and a nice analog style tach or something with some configurable options.

What do you drive???
If it is a Ford is it a possibility dependent upon model and options.

idatalink maestro will display the info on some aftermarket car stereos.

Though it is much easier to buy an ODBII device and download an app for your tablet or phone.

Or you mention simple analog.
Scanguage works quite nicely but I find them to be a bit pricey for their antiquated dot matrix displays. No need for apps phones or tablets.

I'd get a ODB scanner, a cheapo Android phone & buy the Torque Pro app: https://play.google.com/store/...?id=org.prowl.torque

Just be aware that some ODB scanners do not turn off when you turn off the ignition and can drain your battery.

What car (be very, very, very specific). But overall ODB2 will likely get you some things, but its brand specific and monitor tool specific. Its nominally unlikely you can get what you want on a factory screen if that's what you mean by in car info screen. But let's see the details and we can then advise.

I use a Scan Guage II. I have it mounted low on the dash, down by the left turn signal stalk. I have temperature, engine load, average trip MPG and battery voltage displayed. I have the backlight adjusted to match the red of the other backlit buttons.

I wouldn't want to fuss with the controls on a screen to get it to display what you want, and fight for screen real estate with the other controls and maps it needs to show.

I've been using Ultra Gauge (wired version) for a couple of years. Pretty much any function that is available via OBDII, can set it up to display.

http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/

I'm considering the blue tooth version which has the same functions except with a fancier interface. Just waiting for an inexpensive used smart phone to fall into my lap as I don't think I want to use my regular phone for this.

I am looking at a 2018 Mazda 3, manual 2.0 liter. I am unhappy with the factory gauge layout on the lower model (center speedo, digital graph tach, idiot lights) and was inclined to see if there was an easy fix before moving to purchase. I am used to a large speedo, tach in center and fuel, volts, temp and oil pressure as out lying gauges. Easy to monitor, covers vital info. I was hoping for a tech solution before going ricer and wiring in a 5" auto-gauge tach and pillar pod gauges.

Torque pro loaded on the in car screen (android based and easily hacked from my research) sounds like what I'm looking for. Or the wireless ultra gauge connected to the screen, if that's possible.

Being that you are a Mazda you MIGHT be in luck.
ForScan is a program that allows one to make changes to your vehicles onboard computer modules. Works with Ford, Lincoln, and Mazda.
What you can do with it varies upon what modules your vehicle has.
I have an Expedition and have only researched stuff for my particular vehicle which has the less fancy dash display and I can’t adjust things like that in the dash display.
Though the folks with the higher trim levels with the fancy display dashes can.
Again, it is quite vehicle specific and would find a good Mazda forum and see what they are doing with ForScan.

Just buy a refurbished Amazon Fire for $40
Certified Refurbished Fire 7 Tablet with Alexa, 7" Display, 8 GB, Black - with Special Offers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J...cp_api_6TD0AbE9V03XF
They are light so you have lots of mounting options.
Not a super capable tablet but just running the single app it will do just fine.

I have had an Ultra gauge in my Mustang for a few years. No issues. The mpg is more accurate than car read out. I originally purchased the Ultra gauge for the digital mph display. The car speedo has very small spacing between digits. Driving a bright red Mustang I wanted to know how fast I was going.

^Understandable... Also why I usually buy dark colors that don't really draw attention. I like to exceed posted a little too much for "arrest me red."

Black, I will see what I can find about Forscan online. See if it can do anything for what I would like.
