I have no idea why they consider CMT a premium channel here. They removed it from our subscription a few years ago.

Get my pies outta the oven! |
I finally got through to a Comcast rep and asked them why they thought it was legal or ethical to remove channels I’m paying for, 6 months into a 2 year contract without asking me. Basically the answer I got back was: “Because we can. It’s in the fine print of your contract that we can adjust, change or modify anything in the contract at any time. However, you peons CANNOT do anything but take it and like it, also if you cancel and are still in your contract, we will hammer you. Have a nice day.” These goddam pimps can go f*ck themselves. Worst company by far in the entire country.

I know. I still see a show I want to watch, select it, and find out once again I don't get CMT.

Food Network is available on the Roku - don't know how much per month. I'll see if I can find out.

I got tired of fighting them for every penny. I have a 2 year contract with them but returned all the extra boxes, dvr service and hd service. I get the most basic plan with 150mbps internet and phone. I am currently testing iptv pay services with an android box. The service I pay for now gives a couple thousand channels from 40 something countries I think. As well as premium channels like hbo/showtime,cinimax/stars and payperview events. Most channels are 720, some are 1080 and 480. Some times there is buffering issues and other times the channel will go dead until they find a new provider for it. The epg isn't the best at times you'll get a lot of "no information" on the channel guides. It isn't an alternative to cable yet. It might be once everyone is running fiber and there is no issue of buffering and channels going down. It is great in addition to the most basic cable service though. First In Last Out

I lost the few channels I actually watch. Otherwise it's DVD's, Netflix, and Amazon Prime for me. My options are severely limited here but if I'll be shopping around for internet-only deals. Comcast screwed the pooch here. (shocking, right?) ---------- The first 100 people to make it out alive...get to live.

In your opinion. In my ±30 years of IT, professionally and personally, the worst company I ever dealt with, far-and-away, was the thing that currently calls itself "at&t". Comcast, OTOH, has been pretty good to me. But we don't have cable TV. Just an Internet connection. A business class Internet connection. I do hear a lot of complaints from Comcast residential Internet customers. "America is at that awkward stage. This stunt makes me angrier as time goes on. This monopolistic company PURPOSEFULLY yanked certain channels they KNEW people watched quite a bit, like Disney and Food and are trying to force us into higher-cost tiers to get them back. I'm looking at DSL and DirecTV Now, I don't care any longer if it's not as fast as what Comcast would have, I'm to the point where I do not want to ever give them another dime of my money. There's a reckoning coming for this company, it may not be for a while, but it's coming some day.

I have internet only through comcast; I stream everything, and use an HD antenna for over-the-air channels.

I'm not positive but I think that comcast maintains the lines and infrastructure in my area. And because of that they are the only option for cable. I don't remember living in a town where I could actually choose between multiple cable companies. Basically its a monopoly so that the government can offload maintenance of the lines. Total bullshit if you ask me. Again, I'm not sure about this, but it sure does seem to work this way here in the northeast. First In Last Out

I despise Comcast. They are bait and switch grifters and that is all. They signed me up to a 2 year plan with all the ads that included HD. 3 months later the HD disappeared. They said it wasn't included in my package. No surprise I could find no evidence of the package I bought. Got them to put me on a new plan and a year later they fucked me again with channels disappearing. This year when they tried to increase my price I actually told them to give me a no package, no sale, no intro price, full price internet only. I am paying $90 for internet only. I could have gotten a tv and internet package for less but i just don't want to deal with their switching shit on me in a year. These go to eleven.

About a year or two ago I lost a few Comcast channels I watched. Didn't notice anything this time around. I watch most of my stuff on Netflix or On Demand these days. _____________________________________ Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Comcast will flat out lie to you. When I was having problems with them I started using their chat feature when I talked to them. You can save the chats. When the next person would tell me something and say there was no way someone said what I was telling them I would cut and paste the chat. In the end, they just don't give a crap. I'd advise anyone with other options to tell Comcast to screw off. _____________________________________ Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn.
