Well, it’s getting fun now. He sent me a photo of the USPS money order he’s refunding me plus tracking. Amazing how fast he was able to pull that off ... and an email that I was suggesting he commit a felony by shipping via UPS or FedEx without notification of firearm contents. Mind you, it’s not a crime to ship to a licensee without notificaiton of firearm contents. And I am a licensee. He called to tell me how the vet bills were crushing him, then emailed that he couldn’t find a way to ship for less than $100, blah, blah. So I told him to just ship UPS or FedEx Ground. I kind of think he was fishing for that, so he could back out. I doubt GB will do anything, but I will watch this gun forever on GB and email every bidder about my experience with this a-hole. 20 yrs. dealing with online gun sales/trades and I’ve never had a bad experience before this one.

What is his Gunbroker username so I can block him? I do not want to deal with people like that.

hueycuyler is his GB username.

I'll wait until I have that MO in hand before taking this to GB, leaving negative feedback, etc. I'm not totally convinced this isn't a case of a guy's account being hacked, as he just has too much history there to be this ignorant and/or crooked.

It's a shame so many websites out there have misinformation about shipping guns. He sent me a link to some site that had totally bogus info, like he had Google'd "reasons to back out of a sale on GB" or something like that.

Once you get your MO in hand, taking it to GB at this stage will be a waste of your time. Go directly to negative feedback. Whether the account was hacked or not is not your concern.

I want the gun or my money in hand. Right now USPS tracking is showing it hasn't been dropped off yet. I have three weeks of travel starting on Sunday and really want to get this MO deposited before pulling the pin.

He’s got more feedback than me and I have been on there a while. No negative too, after verifying you get your money back I would give him negative feedback about how he backed out so future buyers know. I blocked him on mine too, I don’t want to deal with people like that.

I used GB a couple of times many years ago. Now I buy and sell everything through a " local " gun forum. FTF is my preferred method these days .

Assuming the tracking number he gave me is for a real refund, it looks like it will arrive after Mrs. Lee and I leave for a few weeks of travel. I'll have my mail held, but I'm going to be able to even open the envelop until mid-December. Do I bother contacting GB before I've verified I got a refund? I know they're not real helpful, but I don't want to miss any deadlines for recourse.

Mr. Rick - Not sure how but my wife set us up a daily notification that is sent to our email address by USPS EVERY MORNING that shows actual photos of the mail we are receiving each day along with any scheduled package deliveries.

Might want to set this up (through USPS on line site) and at least you will be able to see if and/or when the envelope/package arrives, even in your held mail.

I think I'm gonna have a buddy come over a few times to check on things. He's a gun buddy and his brother is a cop at the nearby station.

That is USPS Informed Delivery. Like everything USPS, it only partially works well but it is something.

Yes, go to USPS and sign up for informed delivery, you'll get daily emails with images of the mail, so you'll be able to see the outside of every mailing piece and you'll know if it arrived.

https://www.usps.com/manage/informed-delivery.htm

I use it for office as well to know if anything hit the PO box before running down there.

I'm not worried about it arriving. I'm worried about what will be in the envelope.

No sense of worrying about something you have no control over right now. When/if it arrives, it will either be a fake or real refund. Real? Leave negative feedback and be done with it. Fake? Then, you can go nuclear (leave negative feedback, take it up with GB, etc.).

Ok, I got the refund and emailed GB support about this a-hole. No response. He has relisted it. Buy It Now is $250 more than my winning bid and shipping is $20 more than it was for me. I'd like to message every bidder about this scumbag, but don't see a way to contact bidders.

I sent him a little note via GB messenger to say hi.

His feedback is now 141 and he doesn't know how to ship a gun? WTF? I paid for 2nd day shipping, not 2nd week. This guys is such a scumbag. His current price is probably reasonable, but too effin bad about the last one. He listed it too low with no reserve and was just looking for a reason to back out.
