RightwireSkunked
I got home late last night and as I was backing up the driveway I smelled skunk. As I was backing into the garage I see a sunk waddle past me and down the driveway. Clearly it either sprayed in the garage, or perhaps even shot my truck as it went by.
Any ideas on how to get the smell out of my garage?

parabellumIn order to get the smell out of your garage, you probably would have to get the garage out of your garage.

OrgussBurn some popcorn in the garage. That'll take care of the skunk smell.

sourdough44I think 14 days is the upper limit on length of smell. Air it out as much as able, dogs like the smell.
Back in my trapping days I was very familiar with the smell of skunk. At times it was so strong in the air you could about taste it.

joatmonvBoil vinegar in a decent sized pan and put the pan in the garage.
Leave your garage door(s) open if you can.
May have to repeat a few times.

gjgalliganI use

I even use on my dog when she gets sprayed.
Best thing I have found yet.

When you say 'clearly' do you mean you actually saw the skunk raise its tail and spray? Knowing if it actually sprayed, or you are just smelling the results of something else nearby getting sprayed, will make your job of getting rid of the smell a whole lot easier.
If your are smelling the results of something else in the neighborhood getting sprayed or the residual on the skunk itself then the smell will dissipate in a couple days and you can mask it with air spray. If a skunk sprays something you will know it! The smell is strong enough that you can hardly breathe and in some situations you can actually see where it sprayed and clean up is much more difficult.
I had a skunk living in my garage for about a week and I wouldn't have known that if hadn't caught a glimpse of it scurrying under my work bench, so their presence may not be evident by their smell.
So, try and determine if your car or garage actually got sprayed or if you are just smelling the residual of something else nearby getting sprayed.

RightwireAs the critter was running past my vehicle I could see his tail was up. I don't know if he was spraying along the way, had not finished, or just hadn't reloaded. I could smell it a bit as I backed up the driveway, the it got bad. Given that it was after 0130, I was tired, and use my mirrors more than the back up cam I didn't see it until it was already in front of me.
Today I went out and sprayed some vinegar around the area. That actually helped a lot. Took the smell down by 50%. I left the vehicle out with the windows down for a few hours and that more or less took care of that part. It's going to rain for a while so hopefully that will be the end of it.

KevHWhen I was a K9 handler my dog and I got sprayed fairly often. Dawn dish soap, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda always worked to get rid of the smell.
Skunks don't just spray the air they put their musk on something and that's what you're smelling. Find the source. Something in your garage or on your truck has musk on it. Clean that down (Dawn, peroxide and baking soda) and the smell will be gone.

I have never had a flood to have first hand experience but that is one of the big things they claim that it is used for.

This has worked well for me as well.
