I knew both grandfathers, and all of my great uncles were in WWII.

Earlier today, my cousin shared with me that my Great Uncle Bill landed on Omaha Beach 75 years ago today. Later in WWII, he was captured and nearly starved to death in a POW camp. I never knew all of that until today. No wonder he never spoke about his service.
