Son is still going strong in the Army.
He got deployed to Poland last year. He got there and bought a SIM to use.
A week later, they redeployed him westward and he's been checking in once a month. smh

My father was on Guadalcanal, an Uncle was on Iwo Jima, seriously wounded. An uncle flew b-25's {and later c-47's, I Think) in the Pacific, His younger brother was shot down over Japan in a B-29 and was lost, my wife's father was on the Enterprise off Okinawa when it was Kamakazied, he was uninjured.
I signed up for light duty in the Marines but I made it to Tet in '68.
