Military Appreciation Karma

Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, CG, Space Force, National Guard, Reserves - If you, or your family members, serve/served, you're eligible but must have registered before 4/30/24. Share stories or pics, if you care to.

Prize: This FrankenP226 which I dubbed the MK25 Legion, and the following is why.

Frame is the P226 Legion frame, originally from the RXP model, which I purchased from another forum, which seller already had The Sig Armorer’s Carry Level Action work, the QTR and the SuperStrut mainspring system in place. The resulting trigger action is phenomenal. The upper is factory MK25 that I purchased from Osage, when they had their sale. I put a total of 160 trouble-free rounds through it. The gun will come with one 17-rd and three 18-rd Mec-Gar mags. The metal bases on the 18-rounders are from the now defunct TRT Tactical. They don’t add any extra rounds. They are for when you want to use the mags in the Xguns equipped with the jet funnel (what many call mag well). The Sig Armorer work carries a lifetime transferrable warranty (Original seller’s invoice copy is enclosed).

Winner from a mag capacity restricted state will receive the gun without the mags. Sorry, I no longer have any 10-rounders.

Thank you for your generosity Q.

I'm in on behalf of my son, currently serving as a Major in the Army Reserve. If my name gets drawn, this will go to my son.

Back in 2013, when my son was a 1st Lieutenant in the Nat'l Guard, he was deployed to Afghanistan. He was in an engineering company and was the right-hand man to a Captain who, by all accounts, was just taking up space. In fact, the staff at the battalion they reported to didn't even bother to communicate with the captain, when they needed something they'd call my son who would get it done.

Consequently, he wasn't able to go on any "field trips" because he was always needed on the base. Until, one day another lieutenant suddenly got sick as their crew was heading out. My son volunteered to take his place and they headed out before anyone could object.

It was all good until they were heading back to base and one of their vehicles broke down and they had to spend the night on the side of the road. A regular Army unit provided security, they had no trouble, and got back to base the next morning.

However, with my son gone for almost 24 hours, the business of his company ground to a halt. When he got back, he was told in no uncertain terms, to never leave the base again. Big Grin

One day my son was on his way to lunch and ran into a girl he knew from high school. Small world!
