In my 2014 A6 I can set the sensitivity of the presence from off to full on in the MMI. The new models I am not sure though. If you know someone that has a RossTech scanner, there are quite a few settings that can be changed with it.

Just DIY'ed my first oil change on my 2023 A5 Sportback. What an amazing pain in the ass. It is so unnecessarily complicated. I think the under tray takes 14 bolts - two different torx head sizes and one hex size, and several of those are longer or thicker on the threaded end. I have a few left over I could not make fit, but I think the 11 I got back in should suffice. Oil drain plug is plastic and takes a special tool to remove. A flat tip screwdriver worked, but I don't feel good about it, since I like to do this when it's piping hot and metal screwdrivers don't mix well with very hot plastic parts.

Air filter R&R was pretty easy.

But my main source of rage with this car is the Pre-Sense, which seemingly randomly decides I'm going to hit an oncoming car while I'm making a left turn. It doesn't prevent me from starting to turn, but instead, slams on the brakes in the middle of the turn. I have almost been hit three times now, where I'd have easily completed the turn if I were allowed to control the car. Worse yet, this feature can only be disabled for the current trip and resets with each restart of the car. Raging mad about this BS.

Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen...

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

There is a class action suit going on now. The dilemma is: do I wait for it to shake out or pay an independent shop to change the code, thereby perhaps jeopardizing my warranty?

Does Audi have a metal oil drain plug available as a replacement? Aftermarket?

Ross-Tech VCDS Diagnostic Software for VAG (VW-Audi Group) Vehicles --> https://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/VCDS.php

It's the same diagnostic software that the VAST Majority of VW-Audi Techs use. The software is a free download, you just purchase the interface cable and a license. You'll need a Windows PC w/ a USB 2.0 Port. Get the Enthusiast HEX-V2 w/ the license for (3) VINs. Here's the link:

https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/vchv2_ent/

Get it and learn how to use it. It will be the best $199.00 you ever spent if you own an Audi, and it will save you THOUSANDS!!

You can thank me later. Wink

Wouldn’t your Audi dealer do that for you?

Serious about crackers.

^^ You must've missed the part about it will save you THOUSANDS!!

Seriously, I'm not kidding, but it wouldn't be limited to just this particular use, and besides, the AUDI Dealer might be disinclined to defeat a safety feature/system anyway. Anyone that owns an Audi knows the cost of ownership and vehicle maintenance costs are quite high, like ridiculously high, so like I said, hands down, it's the best $199 you could spend if you own an Audi!

I use an electric suction pump to remove oil through the dipstick tube. These engines still have the tube but no dipstick, so maybe they expect the dealer to suction the oil out that way? On my 2020 I experimented and found that the pump does a really good job at not leaving extra oil behind. On the 2025 it seems to do the same good job.

That way there's no removing the under-engine plastics. But on the 2025 there is a yuuge air filter housing on top which is a total pita!

As to the pre-sense, you can go into the MMI menus and turn the sensitivity down. I've had the exact same experience as you several times and find it an unsafe feature! Ditto on the automatic start/stop, but at least that can be totally disabled if I remember to push the button every time I get in.

Thank you. I will do this. But I will first give the stealer a chance to deny my request in writing, in case my going the Ross-Tech route should void my warranty.
