Someone I trust suggested I give this type of physical therapy a try. I’ve complained to y’all in the past about chronic pain from fracturing L4 and the subsequent lumbar fusions. I still deal with constant pain that really wears me out.
Anyway, the airrosti treatment from what I’ve found online deals with pressure points to break up scar tissue and release areas of fascia. It’s supposedly quite painful but can reduce pain in 3-4 visits. I’m curious if anybody has tried it here… or even heard of it?? I have my first appointment this Monday! Eek

If it’s the same thing as myofascia release PT, then my ex swore by it. Said it worked excellent.
I’ll ask her when I see her if this is what it is. I bet it’s the same thing.

I did it several years ago for chronic lower back and hip pain.

I had to withdraw from competing in a half Ironman because of the pain.

The treatments were very painful but well worth it and I learned a lot.

My oldest daughter went as well for low back pain from deadlifting in high school.

My wife has a former coworker that went for carpel tunnel.

I know several others as well and all speak highly of the outcome.

Hadn't heard of this term but I had some suspicion about what it kind of is based upon your post, and some very quick Google-looking more or less confirmed that it seems to be a soft-tissue release therapy/treatment.

I've become a convert to this general type of treatment over the last 4-5 years and it has helped me tremendously with some issues over the same time period...

I am not expert, but I've had considerable experience, as a patient/client, with soft-tissue bodywork including manual therapy, cupping, Graston 'scraping', active/assisted stretching, pressure points, percussion 'massage guns', and myofascial release via the ART method.

These various techniques, in my uneducated mind, all fall under the umbrella of soft-tissue therapies, because they all overlap to some degree, based upon my experience as the patient. This work has been performed on me by a few certified Physical Therapists, some Certified Athletic Trainers, and a licenses Chiropractor (he almost exclusively does ART treatments in his practice as opposed to 'traditional chiropractic adjustments'.

As a whole, this soft-tissue therapy work has been extremely effective at treating chronic knee pain (cupping and Graston especially), acute pain, ROM, and swelling issues related to a several ankle sprain, and most recently insertional Achilles tendinosis.

Honestly, I'm a big big fan. My employer, as part of a wellness program, provides access to the Certified Athletic Trainers. I've found it incredibly beneficial just for general 'upkeep' that keeps moving and feeling better even absent specific injury... but they really shined and prooved their worth when I suffered the ankle sprain last year. They were God-sends for a couple months.

For sure give it a try. And yes, be prepared for it to be uncomfortable at best, and damn painful at times. Graston scrapping, depending on the location being worked on and how tight/irritated/inflamed that area is can be incredibly painful in the moment but it is worth it.

Thanks for the responses guys…. You ever post something and then forget you did it? I just remembered I asked y’all about this last night. Lol. Sorry I didn’t respond sooner. I’m looking forward to Monday and will report back here with the results.
