My 11 year old daughter asked me to build her an “apothecary shack.” Had no clue what that was but I’ll be danged if I’m not gonna build her it.
I’ve got the shack all built, just need to put on a roof. The shack is 4’x6’and I bought three 26”x8’ panels and they fit perfect on top, just horizontally and not vertically.
Am I overthinking installing these horizontally? They fit perfect this way, with about 2” overlap on the panels and the overhang on the sides and front and back means I really don’t need to trim it. But I’m worried about water run off, or again, am I overthinking this?
Any input would be greatly appreciated?

I see some of those free standing carports built with the ribs going across rather than up and down, so it must work.

Overlap a couple of ribs and use a caulking on the seams so water doesn’t flow under. You should be good to go.

It's going to pool water. Either turn it 90 degrees or change the pitch so the high side is the one with the door on it.
I've stopped counting.

This would be my suggestion, particularly if it doesn’t have a floor. Actually I think just one brick on 2 corners should be fine.

You could always put support strips under one side to create a slight slope.

20 pounds of wet pine cones and needles accumulating over the years? Hmm...
Would it be possible to run a 2x6 down the left side and pitch the roof so as to allow all of the water (and debris) to run off of the right?
Just thinking that the weight of the accumulation combined with water saturation may cause the panels to sag and pool water in the center of the roof eventually higher than the seams, causing the roof to leak.
Yeah, been there, redid that.

Guys, look closely, he has it pitched already with the high side at the window. Problem is not enough pitch to get water over the folds and left to right it's horizontal.

You’ve done a great job. Don’t compromise now on the roof, get another panel. Turn them 90 degrees, silicone the overlap and you’re done. Heavy rain or snow load won’t have you looking out wondering if you should have turn them that 90 degrees when you built it.

It definitely needs to be lapped at least one full rib. A bead of sealant the full length of the overlap on the high point of the lower sheet, will definitely help as well.
Of course you will lose an amount of coverage per sheet equal to the spacing of the ribs.
