Yikes. Pretty rough. But sorta humorous. Looks like the party is over.

Razz

Temporarily closing the office in order to keep snowflakes from losing their shit on the premises- I love it. You just know somebody would rip off their tutu and go running outside, or spew their soy latte all over a printer.

The company I work for had some pretty big layoffs about 6 years ago.
When I showed up for work that day, there were these random guys just "hanging out" in various places in the building.
Each one had a backpack next to him or on his back.

Nothing happened, but corporate was ready for a meltdown.

This is where my signature goes.

Looks fair to me. I am of the generation where Security shows up,commands that you clean out your desk, checks what you are taking and escorts you out.
Of course manual labor jobs were more direct. The boss says you are fired or get the fuck out and talk to the union steward if you got a bitch. These were the days before email.

Remember, remember the fifth of November,
Months of uncertainty end as I consider my lot,
I know of no reason
My unemployed holiday season
Should ever be forgot.

That should be part of the email HR sends.

I have a theory. Once-upon-a-time, Vox, the hard left digital "news" site, had forums. Or a forum. It appears they don't, anymore. My theory is all the wild-eyed leftist nutjobs landed on Reddit.

I don't bother with Reddit anymore, unless a search term leads me there.

It's pretty bad. When they nuked r/theDonald and a few others, that was basically the death knell. There's still some good people and a few good subs like r/TimPool, but they get pretty relentlessly trolled by wokeists. Elon needs to buy it next once he's done giving Twitter an enema.

Previous Twitter shareholders should be livid at what they didn't know.

Just read on Fox News where Musk was slapped with a lawsuit for not giving the federally-mandated 60 day notice.

If these people stay, they are sure to sabotage Musk's efforts and the company. I wonder if Musk can pay them 60 days severance and meet the requirements? Still a metric butt ton of money, but it would mitigate the risk.

Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.

They're trying to pull a WARN Act I think.

But I don't think that applies to a company that is owned by one person, only ones with boards and all that?

Musk is smart. I am certain he anticipated the suit and will deal with it apporpriately. BTW what is the average age of the Twitter employee?

I looked it up.

Twitter has 3,900 employees.

44% of Twitter employees are women, while 56% are men.

The most common ethnicity at Twitter is White (52%), followed by Hispanic or Latino (18%) and Asian (15%).

18% of Twitter employees are Hispanic or Latino.

15% of Twitter employees are Asian.

The average employee at Twitter makes $146,546 per year.

Twitter employees are most likely to be members of the democratic party.

Based on the evidence at hand I'd have to guess about five years old or so?

IANAL, but I think it has to do with larger companies. Didn't something similar happen to Daniels Defense? Or I could be totally misremembering.

Would imagine that Musk's accounting team and attorneys looked at this and determined the cost of the lawsuit and any fines were not greater than the total payroll and benefits costs as well as potential sabotage to the company from keeping these employees.
