Tourist mine Colorado. One dead, 11 rescued (including 2 children), 12 still trapped. Authorities allowing only limited info out thus far. Known to be some kind of elevator malfunction. No specifics on how the fatality occurred.

They are trapped at the 1000 foot level, which is the depth of the mine. They have water, chairs, and blankets. The fatality occurred at 500 feet, however, where the malfunction occurred. All tourists except for 1 mine employee.



UPDATE: The remaining 12 all rescued. On to the next crisis.
