Help! iOS 11.2.6, Safari. Left half of screen hijacked

Help! iOS 11.2.6, Safari. Left half of screen hijacked
All of a sudden, when I rotate my phone to landscape orientation (the way I like for SigForum), the left half of the screen is hijacked to show bookmarks. Dunno how it got that way, and haven’t been able to fix it. Don’t see anything in Safari settings to fix it. Things like this didn’t happen when Steve Jobs was CEO. Help!
