As a Vietnam War Era Veteran (US Army South Korea DMZ Field Artilley (being shot at and not allowed to return fire) my thoughs back then were that Hanoi Jane needed to be prosecuted and sentenced as a traitor..But for many reasons that I still do not agree with that never happened...... drill sgt.^^^^ reboot.. not to be misunderstood....Why was she not prosecuted and sentenced for her aid to the enemy during a time of war????? was it because of her personal family ties because of who her father was ???? Was it because she was being used as a planted spy???..Guess we will newer know the real truth and only the truth that the government wants us to know............. drill sgt. This message has been edited. Don't recall hearing a peep from her a few years ago about other folks' 1A rights getting steamrolled over. But now that her and her ilk's voices are getting less attention with every passing day, she screeches.

As retired Air Force who served during the Vietnam War, I have never understood why "Hanoi Jane" was never tried for treason during wartime. The mental image I still have of her is sitting behind a Vietnamese antiaircraft gun while the US Air Force was flying combat missions over Vietnam. Who in the US government was protecting her? I have never had an answer to that question.

There seems to be a very poor grasp of the First Amendment by these individuals.
They don't care, everything is an opportunity to exploit something, she'll probably be applying for some NGO grant on Free Speech to gain millions extorting taxpayers once that stuff starts back up post Trump.

Many moons ago I was listening to a radio interview with Jim Webb, a former Marine, former Sec Def, author of Fields of Fire and more.. The interviewer told Webb that Jane was going to make a speech and would he be interested in going to hear her.
... Insert dead air here...and Webb replied: "I wouldn't cross the street to watch her cut her own throat."
Some things just seem to stick with you.

I offer Ms. Fonda an invitation as my guest at the Albuquerque, New Mexico VFW Post. The rest room has prominent displays of her likeness in every urinal.
Ms. Fonda has achieved a great deal of fame over the past 60 years or so, but few popular entertainers can claim such levels of disgust in the minds of so many Americans.
