We dodged a bullet here, by less than 1/2 mile. The tornado that started near Hillsboro and through Arnold almost went right over us. Thankfully, no damage to the house, just some downed trees. Some friends did lose their house. We didn’t drive into Arnold, but the destruction in my area is unreal. We lost power for about 17 hours. It came back Saturday afternoon. Things could have been a lot worse for sure.

Glad you are back up and running with electricity!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

We live near the Meramec river. No serious damage to my house, just downed trees/branches.

On Saturday we walked along the river trail near 55. Many trees were down across the trails. The treetops were full of insulation, huge chunks of it, blown across the river from JeffCo. There was corrugated metal roofing everywhere. Some of those buildings that blew apart traveled quite a distance before landing in St. Louis County. It's a mess.

So far the National Weather Service has confirmed 4 tornadoes in St Louis this past Friday and expect that number to increase.
