How To Make the "New Post" Window Appear As a Tab Instead of New Window in Safari Login/Join
I swear I had
something for this

Pretty straight forward question. I like how on my iPads that the New Post window comes up as a Tab, but when I use Safari on MacOS, I can't find a setting that doesn't make it a new window.

Anyone have any ideas where to look under settings? I've already got "Open Pages as Tabs instead of windows" switched to "Always" but this keeps coming up as a separate page.

Does holding down the "command" key and then clicking reply work for that?
On a windows machine, ctrl + click will open a new tab when clicking reply.

Funny that command+reply does not work on Safari but works on Firefox to open a new tab on my IMac.
Maybe because it's a popup window and not a link to a new page.

Hmm, that works on Brave browser. I didn't know this. Thanks!

That seems to be the case.

The closest I've gotten is when the Window pops up, right click on Copy Website Address and open a new tab and paste it. The downside is after you post, the tab stays active until you delete it.

Just hovering over the "New" with my mouse (with no modifier key) gives me the options of Discussion, Poll, Photo Album, any of which opens in a new tab.

What browser are you using? Different browsers act differently.

For example, I just found out you can open a new discussion as a tab in Chrome if you Command-Click on the new discussion link. OP, if you're willing to change your browser, might be what you're looking for.

Yes, I realize that is at the heart of any "solutions". I use Vivaldi on Macs, which is a Chrome-based browser.

On Macs, Control-Click, or Right Click, is usually the best thing to try for options. I do not believe this "secondary click" is enabled by default. If not, it can be enabled in System Settings/Mouse.
