Looking for pen recommendation
I currently use a Cross slimline gel ink pen. I have had it a long time and love it. Lately the ink Is getting harder to find and the last two I got didn't work well. I need the slim body to fit in my planner and I like the darker gel ink.

Any recommendations?

I have used nearly every pen known to man, (Fineskind, above, excepted.) The most useful, durable, heat resistant, do anything pen I have ever used is the Fisher Space Pen.

Not the prettiest, still a ballpoint (although very smooth), priced right in the middle. It's the GLOCK of pens.

Click, sliding cap, and sliding cap with clip. Can't go wrong.

As the Fisher Space Pen goes, a Space Pen refill inside a Zebra F-701 is a treat. I've got F-701s all over the place.

There are lots of videos on the conversion -- it's easy to do. Enjoy!

He may not like it--probably doesn't; I don't--but he knows it's so, and knowing is the first step in coping with it."

Fisher sells Space Pen refills that fit a Cross Pen. I use them.

The longest-lasting most versatile pen I've had is my F-701 upon which I performed the famed Zebra pen hack. I use it with space pen refills that seems to last forever.

That said, I've developed an interest in my old age for fountain pens, and use my Parker or Waterman in preference to the Zebra for anything more than jotting a note. The nice thing about fountain pens in the availability of various inks in various colors. OTOH, they have to be re-filled and cleaned from time-to-time.

Lamy is my EDC pen. And Fisher is a great pen too.

I recently had a very negative experience with Zebra pens. I ordered a bunch to write on the back of photographs, thinking a gel pen that didn’t smear (their claim) would be ideal for this purpose.
But on a batch of matte black and white prints, the ink did not adhere to the print and did not dry. Hence it went on to the front of the next print down in the stack; then when run through a sheet-fed scanner smeared ink on the faces of the subjects. This was a real disaster. I would strongly recommend a test on any specific type of photo print. These were, I think plasticized and not normal photo paper.
I just ordered a Fisher Space Pen to give it a try. Thanks—and I ordered the $12 one, not the $80 one. SigForum has already cost me a bunch of money. Coffee is great though!

I like space pen refills, inside a tactical turn copper pen - antibacterial, and the weight means less down pressure to write.

Now, if you are writing a great deal, then a fountain pen is a better choice.

Personally, I just carry pentel graph gear .9mm pencils, now.

They work quite well, are cheap to replace, and work well with the rite in rain paper I use in kitchens and freezers.

Now, if I’m back to a more “civilized” life, I may go back to carrying a fountain pen, but I kind of doubt it.

Another benefit of the pencil, is that it doesn’t cause issues in the washing machine - neither do my space pens.

I've used Fisher Space Pens for years, I think the one on my desk has been here at least 25 years. I keep one in my Jeep and one on my small pack. I didn't know about the Zebra pens and the conversion, will look into it for my wife.

I just ordered a few new F701 pens and I'm curious about this Fisher pen hack.

Is there a particular refill # that I'll need to order the correct one for the F701 conversion?

I'm really interested in doing this.

I've looked online but I'm just not sure what refill to order.

Thanks y'all.

Holy shit! Off to Amazon!

I love the way my space pen writes, but I hate the actual pen (Bullet).

This is the pen I always use Amazon link for cheap roller retractable.

Can't wait to try the combo. I've used Zebras in the past but I didn't like how it didn't lay down ink at angles.

EDIT - Ordered.

Where are these Zebra pens actually manufactured?
