MarinetoRNSounds like dusty got it. He need to see a neurosurgeon in America. No way in Chinaa. Bad thing about Lumbar surgeries is they either work or they don't. Hopefully, your son is some kind of good physical condition before the surgery. It could make all the difference. If he is overweight, encourage him to lose weight. He needs to be in the best possible shape prior to surgery. It'll make all the difference in the physical therapy/recovery period. Wishing him all the best.

bettysnephewDon't know if mainland China is like Taiwan, but hospitals in Taiwan provide minimal care to the patient as far as linen changes, nursing and meals. The family is expected to provide those things on a day to day basis. This is according to my expire who came from Taipei. I would say get him the heck out of there by any means possible.
