Spicing up coffee

konata88Spicing up coffee
I usually take my coffee black, whether it's from the technivorm or the nespresso.
Looking for a change of pace, it seems that adding cinnamon or nutmeg is popular.
I tried cinnamon. I don't get it. It doesn't dissolve and it tends to just either stick to the sides of the mug or clump up. I end up drinking / chewing clumps of cinnamon at the end. Either I'm doing it wrong or I just don't find the appeal.
I'll try nutmeg hopefully with better results.

MelissaDallasTry putting a few pieces of broken up cinnamon stick in the brewing basket with your coffee, not ground sprinked in your cup.

GustoferI've been adding a tsp of Swiss Miss (hot chocolate) to my coffee lately. I like it.

konata88Bourbon, Baileys, Kahlua, cocoa mix - all already regulars for night time coffee.

Adding cinnamon to the basket instead of the mug - I'll try that tip.

Pipe SmokerI went the other way. For decades I put cream in my coffee. Seven or eight years ago I discovered that I liked it better black.

That makes it into a cafe mocha, doesn’t it? I treat myself to that once in a while with some whipped cream.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." xantomI drink coffee black 99% of the time. But in the winter I do like to add Nestle's hot chocolate mix, and a bit of sugar. I have also added maple syrup, and malted milk. I can't drink regular hot chocolate anymore, it has to have coffee in it.

SigSentryI add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the portafilter (on top of the grounds). Seems to do the trick

IntrepidTravelerCardamom. Makes it taste like a Turkish coffee. Quite good. Put it in the grounds as it brews. A little goes a long way.
Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.

patwI am a weak man when it comes to how I like my coffee. I usually doll it up pretty good with a fancy creamer, as I can't stomach it naturally. My son likes a strong black coffee and occasionally he will put in a little spiced caramel for flavor.
