Various womenfolk, including some of my wife's friends and my stepson's girlfriend, kept bringing over 6 packs of Mike's Bacardi Claw Watermelon Rhubarb Peppermint Hurricane Bellini Blasts, opening one, taking two sips, tossing it (because duh... it sucks), and leaving the other 5 bottles in my beer fridge. A couple days later, someone else does the same with a different flavor. Rinse and repeat.
At one point, there were over 20 of these shitty malt liquor sugar bombs cluttering up my beer fridge. And the beer fridge is one of those dorm room fridges that only holds like 35 bottles max.
It's not a total ban, but now the rule is that if they bring it over, they take it home with them, even if they didn't like it.
It's like I wrote this post myself... I will also allow them to bring it over, as long as they understand that anything they leave behind is watering the arbor vitae while they're backing down the driveway.
That, and cats.
Oh yeah, and lamb. I need to be away for a minimum of three days after that stuff is cooked in my house. The smell literally makes me ill.

ArtieSMargarine, "low fat", "sugar free" and "frozen dessert".
No.
It's butter, whole or full fat, real sugar, and ice cream.
Moderation, not chemistry is the key to not overdoing it.

RustybladeCommercial TV. Perhaps 10 years ago I said 'no more' to ads on tv. I'll wait till Netflix, or whoever, runs it commercial free or go without. Programming quality being what it isn't -- it is easy to go without.
Do not necessarily attribute someone's nasty or inappropriate actions as intended when it may be explained by ignorance or stupidity.

Jimbo JonesPretty much anything scented artificially - laundry soap mainly, but also banned are those awful scented plug-ins, fabric spray, "air freshener", dryer sheets, vanilla-shiite scented candles. Its unavoidable with some cleaning products though. We light unscented beeswax candles frequently and the occasional pine scented holiday candle is nice though. But I love the smell of a natural spruce or fir tree at Christmas, so also banned are artificial Christmas trees.

Roasted Brussels sprouts and lamb are one of my favorite dinners. If I had a kitchen, I'd be roasting some today. I did pick up a rack of lamb at Costco 15 minutes ago. Yummy!

asonieLow fat ranch salad dressing. It’s vile and I’d rather eat veggies plain. Same with light mayo.

It's full fat in my house. Frankly, I think kids need it, and the rest of us don't work properly with "low fat" things. Your body knows satiatey, low fat fillers and substitutes confuse it, you eat more.
We don't do scented things, we do use "odor absorbers," they work. I grow Lavender, we dry it and have it around.
Dryer sheets are garbage. Along with napkins. Paper towels, and we use wool dryer balls.
Cats are a hard no. I don't mind the animals themselves, but as far as in my own home, well, I've been remodeling for years now and let me tell you some cat piss stories. Dogs can smell too, but they are nowhere near the cat issue.
No smoking in my home, of anything. It is allowed on the deck when we have people who smoke. Again, having remodeled homes, smoking is a great way to ruin a home.
No cable TV here. Netflix, Amazon, and actually purchased DVDs, along with this weird thing called The Local Library.
There is no Soda in my home. It is among the worst foods for you. We sometimes have junk food, and there are cookies for the kid, but in general the eating of outright trash is severely limited. Anything with high fructose corn syrup is avoided.
There are no incandescent lights in my home, they are old tech and now that the color temperature issue is dealt with, nobody misses them.
As an aside, in renovating homes, I've replaced customers lightbulbs in their entire home and this can often happen: Their electricity bill goes down while their heating bill goes up a little. Those incandescents are inefficient and it comes out as heat.
Inside the home we don't use pesticides and poisons, and extremely limited use outside.
I'm sure there is more, but it's routine and I don't think about it.
Arc.

tatortoddLiquid fabric softener - nasty, expensive shit makes towels waterproof and clogs the fibers of modern wicking materials which prevents them from wicking (clogging traps bacteria and causes the infamous smell). Thanks to a Sigforum thread I've been using vinegar for at least 8 years (maybe longer). Towels actually absorb water, my modern wicking material clothes don't stink, no mineral build up in the washing machine, and gallon jugs are dirt cheap ($2.64 at HEB).
I don't use the dryer sheets in the dryer either, but have some I put in storage boxes as an air freshener.

My kids get iPad time when they earn it. Last year we banned any game or app that contains loot boxes, or login lotteries or spin-to-win for logging in type things.
There’s some pretty damning data coming out of screen/dopamine research, especially in early childhood development areas.

pawprintsdocNot so much a thing, as it is an action...no eating while seated anywhere other than the table, or the bar.
Also, from the time our kids were little...absolutely no electronics while eating together. It’s important to have that family time and talk to each other.
