Black92LXI believe my bear is eating my fish, any deterrents? Update: might be a hawk.
Finally made it to the cabin.
Cameras show the bear at the pond once and he was not there very long.
I think the culprit might be a hawk.
I have a number one pics of a hawk swooping in from behind down to the pond and perching across from the camera and doing the same the opposite direction.
Pics are hard to tell if he is grabbing fish or not.
The Hawk appears to have white and brown horizontal bands down its back not sure what type.

92fstechIn my experience raptors usuall carry fish off and eat them elsewhere...herons I'm not so sure about, but I always thought they swallowed fish whole. My guess would be a raccoon or an otter or some other kind of mammal. Should be kind of a fun project to watch the camera with the kids to figure out what's doing it.

wreckdiverWe have a Great Blue Heron that visits our Lakehouse just about everyday, our VRBO tenants write about it all the time, when we are there, we witness his voracious appetite. It's always a joke that it's great grandpa coming back to check on things
