What I do in airports. Read a book.
It was rhetorical. Airports are the only pace I remember seeing CNN Headline News. People are not likely to return to books for the same reason CNN is sticking a fork in Headline News, they’re relics. People will continue using their personal portable information screens. I’m not knocking books, I love books.
Here's an interesting factoid. I've personally done hundreds of situation rooms for everything from Silicon Valley High Tech firms to NASA, the FAA, police departments and of course, Homeland Security all over the US and some foreign countries.
One thing they all had in common, every last one of them, was that they played CNN 24/7/365 on their screens. No exceptions.

I just got done doing 4 flights and 3 airports twice each and I said to myself, wait a minute. I don't recall seeing a TV in a single one of those airports. I probably just missed them, but all I saw were the boards announcing arrivals and departures.

Lefty SigCNN used to be 24 hour news and no "shows" I remember watching it back in the 90's in college and shortly thereafter. Just revolving news. As they added more opinion shows in prime time and other specials, HNN took over the 24 hour news stream. Except they couldn't leave it at that and turned it into "CNN minus".
Kind of like MTV was all videos and maybe a special once or twice a week. Then it turned into nothing but "shows" and no videos, so they added VH1, which followed the same trajectory, and then....

Yup. I remember when. And it was actual, honest-to-God
news.
